Description

The Saint Edward’s School experience begins with the warm greeting at the front door. Daily, the campus buzzes with activity, from Lower School students on the playground to Upper School students gathering around a picnic table, engaged in literary debate before the first bell rings. Committed to academic rigor, this community creates life-long learners from the moment a student becomes a Pirate. Young people develop athletic, artistic and leadership skills from an early age and as they mature, they benefit from an incomparable college counseling program in this supportive, united community.

There are no limits to a child’s potential at Saint Edward’s School. Middle School students with superb athletic abilities play on varsity sports teams, and gifted students are encouraged to deepen their knowledge at their own pace, including the opportunity to create an independent study program. Spanish instruction begins at the Pre-K level and continues through 12th grade, and many students travel the world to participate in academic competitions. The School’s location on the Indian River Lagoon encourages environmental stewardship and harbors a wealth of marine biology lessons and discoveries.

Saint Edward’s School’s advocacy program begins in Middle School and continues until graduation. This unique mentoring relationship provides students with an unparalleled level of guidance and direction from adult role models who are truly committed to shaping good kids into exceptional adults. As they progress from the Middle to the Upper School, students enter into a college counseling curriculum that is proven successful. Our students don’t just attend college; they pursue the best match for their skills, goals, and lifestyle.

This School is not just where kids go to learn, it’s a destination for a vibrant education. In fact, by December 2013, over 78% of Saint Edward’s seniors were accepted to the college of their choice. English Department chair Barklie Eliot says it best, “this is not just a school with a rigorous curriculum and high expectations. It’s a culture and a community created by adults and children who share a deep commitment to asking the big questions and working together to chase down the answers. And we have a little fun along the way.”

Founded in 1965, Saint Edward’s is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools and the Florida Kindergarten Council. The School is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and the National Association of Episcopal Schools. Saint Edward’s School admits student of any race, religion, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, program and activities made available to students at the School.
