We are the church.
St. George's Episcopal Church is an historic and vibrant Christian Community. We are a Colonial Anglican parish in the Episcopal Church, founded in 1735. We are a sacramental community. The Holy Eucharist is at the heart of our life and ministry. It is celebrated on Sundays and during the week as the community's chief act of praise and thanksgiving. We pray daily for the needs of all parishioners, our community and the world. All parishioners are encouraged to pray the Divine Office daily, wherever they may be. Liturgically, we are a traditional parish with excellent church music. We promote a high standard of preaching and teaching. Pastorally, we are a comprehensive and inclusive parish where all persons are welcome to participate fully regardless of race, gender, orientation, or economic status.
We teach the Christian faith through our sacramental life, church school, Kerygma Bible Studies, Rector's Forums, Quiet Days, The Howe Lecture Series and Preaching Missions. Education, both for youth and adults, is extremely important for at St. George's Church. As an historic Colonial parish of the Episcopal Church, our goal is to be a liturgically, Biblically, and theologically literate community of faith engaged in servanthood ministry.
We offer ourselves to Almighty God not only through Anglican Worship and Music, corporate Prayer, the Divine Office, Mass on the Lord's Day and weekdays, the study of Holy Scripture, and acts of Christian Charity, but through pastoral care, fellowship, personal prayer, servant ministry in the community and veneration of the Saints.
An Inquirers Class is offered to all newcomers using the CREDO Course, a basic course or core curriculum on the Christian faith.

The mission of St. George’s is to bring all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.
As we worship and serve Christ, we come to know Him and make Him known through the Sacraments and through study of Holy Scripture.
Nurtured by scripture, tradition and reason; through prayer, and by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the people of St. George’s know the church of Jesus Christ to be local, universal and inclusive.
We accomplish this mission through prayer and worship, proclamation of the Gospel and by promoting peace, justice and love.
The Mass is at the heart of our life and ministry as the chief act of praise and thanksgiving. We offer ourselves to Almighty God through devotion to the fullness of Catholic faith and the beauty of the Anglican tradition.
St. George’s teaches biblical and theological literacy, Christian charity, love and acceptance of all people, and faithful stewardship of our parish and our community.
Our mission involves the ministry of all its members.
St. George’s is a vibrant and joyous Christian community of love and grace with an historic past reaching back to colonial America, with a deep commitment to live the faith in new and exciting ways each day.
St. George’s is faithful to the doctrine, discipline, and worship of the Episcopal Church, as well as its comprehensiveness, diversity and the middle way of tolerance and understanding.
All people are welcome to worship with us and encouraged to participate fully in the ministry of this church.
