Staff was doing the best they could. I was shoved in a room the size of a prison cell. No shower, closet ,towels, useable phone, chair, window. They could not find me a front desk when husband came to find me. Glass door . So loud it was comparable to a jail cell on the movies. I do not want you to say talk to public relations . I heard enough excuses. Do not charge me for real room when I got a holding cell for 2 days.
No one should ever be admitted to this hospital. Floor Staff does not know how to communicate with patients or each other. Staff continuously gives incorrect or just plain ignorant information to patients and family members. If you do find a Nurse that actually knows & does there job instead of just give attitude you are having an extremely lucky day and probably should buy a lottery ticket before that luck runs out.... We were told they are not understaffed by two different managers.... guess the floor staff doesn't know that. They run around disorganized, act like there is actually only one person on the floor that can do anything and have absolutely no clue on what is going on with the patient or their case. I am thrilled my father made it out of there alive.... Emergency Department is fantastic!!! Only Area that actually knows what they are doing, has visible protocols followed and communicates with each other as team to provide proper patient care.
I had a test done at this hospital, and was nervous after reading some of these negative reviews, however, I had zero reason to be concerned. From the moment I checked in at the registration desk, by the super friendly staff, to the technicians Kyle, Jaime and I think her name was Megan to the physician, Dr. Hansen, performing the exam, I couldn't be more pleased. Everyone was very reassuring, and explained everything in detail, as to what was going to happen. I applaud their "bed side manner," and appreciate their genuine concern and professionalism. Thank you everyone.
I wish I could give this place half star. My wife was kept waiting for 4 days without food being told she would be transferred to get a pretty urgent surgery. It seemed as if they were intentionally keeping us there knowing full well they couldn't help us. But gave us enough hope so we wouldn't leave. Just to find out that whatever they said wasn't actually going to happen. Once 5 pm came they said there's nothing you can do because it's after hours. But they stall all day long so you don't have any other options. I wouldn't normally be this critical but the same thing happened to my nephew a few months earlier. When he walked out and went to a different group he was diagnosed and helped right away. Meanwhile my aunt who needed the exact same surgery was in and out in two days at a different hospital. If you want a hospital that will advocate for you go somewhere else. It was absolutely baffling how many times we were given false hopes and no one actually had sympathy for our situation or power to do anything. Supervisors wouldn't even talk to me. Extremely disappointed in this place and never going back again.
I had to spend the night for a sleep study in the Sleep Center. The tech was awesome, helpful and professional...so definitely no complaints in that department. My 1 star rating is because I found blood and a dead bug after getting up in the morning. I believe it was a bed bug, the tech did recover it and said she would show it to the appropriate person. How in the world does this happen in a hospital?!?!?
Four days ago, my husband was admitted to Froedtert to have surgery on his right foot. Since then all I’ve heard was nothing but how bad the care is that he is receiving. The cleaning staff walks in his room and asked him if he needs anything. My husband, of course will tell them know they signed the sheet. This room was clean by so-and-so and walk out they don’t dust they don’t mop the floor. He’s lucky if it’s trashcan gets emptied. He had some water leakage from the shower onto the floor after he wiped it up, you could see one clean spot it’s horrific. After not seeing a doctor for days he finally receives his surgery. After the surgery he starts throwing up. And today he is still throwing up but podiatrist stopped in sometime today and said oh everything looks good. You should be able to go home today, meanwhile, he is still on an antibiotic drip and can’t hold anything down. Know remember his surgery was just yesterday, and they wanna ship him out the door right away. The nurses are less than on the ball, if you know what I mean. For example, after throwing up the first time, it took his nurses aide one hour before checking on him in the bathroom where anything could’ve happened to him. Needless to say, I am less than pleased with this hospital. If it wasn’t for my own surgery that I recently had, I would be up there, shaking it down. People deserve better. All people deserve better. Froedtert needs to clean the house and start over again with people that really care and that goes for the doctors that work there too.
Worst hospital ever. Nurses took forever to come into the room I was staying at. They only allowed 4 visitors something I was not aware from my family came from about 40 min away and one of them had to stay in the parking lot. Wish I could have stayed in the New Berlin location. Hopefully I never have to come here again. They also kept asking if I spoke good English once I had already let them know my English is fluent. The nurses did not look friendly at all !
I never write reviews but I’m honestly so beyond disappointed with this hospital. My dad was taken there in an ambulance for severe chest pains. He was kept overnight where he barely saw a doctor and had to receive the results to his tests on MyChart and nobody reviewed them with him. He was released the next morning with no clear diagnosis and still in pain. Never in this visit did they think to do an echocardiogram to look at his heart. Because why would you want to look at someone’s heart if they had severe chest pain? A couple weeks later, he is still in pain and at Grafton hospital getting an echocardiogram at the request of his cardiologist. The amazing tech there spots an AORTIC DISSECTION and he is rushed to St. Luke’s in Milwaukee for emergency surgery. He was told if they hadn’t caught the dissection that day it is likely he would’ve been dead by lunch. He lived with an aortic dissection, something that usually kills people before they can get to a hospital, for weeks. Once he was better, he contacted St. Joe’s to let them know how disappointed he was with the “help” he had at their hospital. They later wrote him a letter claiming they did an investigation into his case but found they had no errors in the service they provided. I know there are mistakes made in every field, but own your mistakes people. He had all the symptoms of an aortic dissection when he first went to St. Joes but they never thought to look at his heart? Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous. Save your time and your loved ones and drive a little longer to go to another hospital.
Took wife here! We will find another health care facility other then this place! No one should have to go threw the pain and suffering i had to see my wife go threw tonight! We have asked 4 different times for more pain killer for her! We keep getting the same responce "sure let me ask the nurse" after that we get nothing! If we have to go too milwaukee i hope that hospital is better... this is a joke!!!!!
**UPDATE: The following review did result in a follow-up call from the hospital PR representative. The concerns were aired but the result was not to lead to any meaningful communication with any personel who could address the problem or cause an effective solution. After many months of waiting for sny meaningful, effective dialog, I feel as though Froederdt has done nothing more than to attempt to"PR-away" the matter. **Here is where my original review started*** I am a professional operator/owner of several assisted living homes in Milwaukee and Richfield. I visit a lot of hospitals and health-related businesses in my everyday position. I am well-seasoned in working and communicating with medical professionals. I have high respect for some of the Doctors and for personelle in the ER. I have just returned from the third unprofessional encounter that I have experienced with this hospital. My contact and behavior of a great number of nursing staff on the 3rd floor of this hospital, has truly left me confounded and dumb-founded. The inciting incident has shaken my trust in this nursing staff on 3 similar situations. The core issues revolve around a nursing staffer reporting an "untruth" and then, when called-out on the false-statement, this nurse's superiors did nothing to correct the situation. The first incident eventually was addressed to a mutual resolution Unfortunately, like-incidents have now happened an additional times with this odd behavior repeating itself in near-identicle manner. When I later, calmly approached a higher hospital authority to reveal the issue had oddly repeated, the reply was to suggest that because I was returning with a similar nursing complaint, that I was being viewed as the the one at fault, simply for bringing this quietly to their attention. No further investigation would be given to confront this seemingly obvious transgression. As I see/saw this hospital having no real desire to look into this apparent dis-honest nurse-staff behavior any further. I am therefore left with no other real option than to alert others that they should avoid be cared for by this third-floor nursing staff or taking their loved ones to do same. I realize that to "broad-brush" paint an entire nurse staff in such a way seems unusual and unfair. Unfortunately, a good number of these nurses have been long-timers on this staff and the lead nurse Manager is the ring leader of a crew where several bad-apples have seemingly affected the majority of this staff, including the newer nursing assistants that I have come into contact with. Honesty must be respected as the cornerstone of the medical profession. Sincerely, Tom Hignite Owner/Miracle Assisted Living Homes
