Campus Safety Mission
Office Mission Statement: The Mission of Saint Mary’s College Security is to promote and maintain a safe and secure environment in order to support the college mission of helping women to prepare to make a difference in the world. Safety programs help nurture personal growth of students, outside the classroom, as they develop critical thinking skills to promote safe and responsible decision making. College security encourages the active participation of community members in the shared responsibility of reducing the opportunity for criminal activity through alertness, awareness and reporting.
Escort Van (Blinkie)
The Blinkie service is scheduled to operate Sunday - Thursday, from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The Escort Van will also operate Friday and Saturday, from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. (Times are adjusted to start earlier as fall approaches and daylight hours become shorter).
Blinkie goes to all the Residence Halls as well as the student parking lots. As a reminder, please leave your headlights on so Blinkie will know that you are waiting for a ride.
Transpo Trolley (The Sweep)
Students are encouraged to make use of South Bend Transpo's Trolley, "The Sweep," for commuting back and forth to Notre Dame during the day and into the night. There is no fee for this transportation to and from Notre Dame for Saint Mary's College students/faculty/staff with ID card.
ND Midnight Express runs later on Friday and Saturday nights
