The Maytag equipped Laundry with 23 giant-sized, high-efficiency washers ranging from 25 pounds to 80 pounds and 18 large, energy-efficient dryers is unique to St. Peter and residents can do laundry and shop locally. It is open 24 hours and caters to the busiest households in the area. “We love the fact that customers can start a load of sleeping bags, comforters or pillows, get all their downtown shopping done and return to dry and fold, regardless of the time of day” says co-owner Megan Kaduce. “Many of our new customers are telling us they were driving to Mankato because they needed the larger capacity machines. While there, they were running other household errands and so now we are happy to keep that money being spent locally.”
The business model follows several successful stores throughout Minnesota and offers the big-city conveniences to Saint Peter. The store is well-lit and has large windows and double doors that swing in and out. It has two large screen televisions, free WiFi access, vending machines and ample comfortable seating for the customers. A 24-hour security system keeps tabs on the facility and alerts the owners if needed. Also, a wash-dry-fold service will be added for patrons to drop off laundry and have it all completed for them. Each of the machines can take coins or tokens and there is also a reader for credit or debit cards one of the two change machines. There is plenty of parking available on Mulberry Street, parking lot to the North, plus even a couple spots near the alley entrance.
