The staff in short stay 1 were awesome. I didnt get all of the nurses names but they took very good care of my mom during and after surgery. She had some complications after surgery and they explained everything that was happening and what needed done. The last nurse in that area on 1/17/23 was the best!!! My my ended up staying over night and had to be moved to short stay 2 until a room was available and her nurse there was great too. After moving to a room around the corner on the second floor, my mom was also taken care of for the most part. She had a couple issues in the morning but after 1130 when i got back her nurse was very helpful. Even after i snapped at her... Heather, you were great and i again apologize!! She helped explain stuff so my mom could understand it and listened to our concerns and relayed them to the drs. Again, thank you, Heather from the second floor, you are a saint!!!
If I could give a zero I would because I have a kidney injury apparently and they keep running tests and figuring out my kidneys are getting worse and worse with each test they take but have no idea on why they are getting worse every doctor In this hospital even the specialized kidney doctor can't even give me an answer on why it's getting worse but also doesn't do anything to figure it out or to help me in any way also their communication here is horrible I've had to g ring my nurse bell multiple times for the same thing and then they will starve u if u missed the cafeteria.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DOT I REPEAT DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL!!! they also have cameras in the patients rooms so u have no privacy either
Did the limited staff did their best? Some did, most did not!!! Went there for chest pain and difficulty breathing. Labs, x rays, ekg completed in an effective manner. Then 3 hrs of waiting with no time frame, no updates, no medication and no responses. It is absurd to be this inefficient and ineffective in your systems and this was after going to their affiliated urgent care waiting 2.5 hrs there to only be told to go to the emergency room. The attending doctor was very rude and unprofessional being short literally and figurativelyand condescending. The nursing and critical care staff also showed a lack of professionalism and attention to detail. At one point walking through the tiny room where my girlfriend was waiting for services to get to other side. The IV was inserted incorrectly leading to bruising and ultimately bleeding when it got taken out. there was no follow-up in regard to the discharge and only after asserting and self advocacy for services did my girlfriend get someone to answer questions. The doctors were unavailable and no one could find them! After 9 hrs there, the experience was lacking and so appalling that I now distrust and question any care I or my family will receive. I will not be going back anytime soon if I can avoid it! I’d give a negative rating if I could!
I normally don’t write reviews, especially negative ones but I believe they need to look into the treatment towards pregnant women and new mothers .My first child in 2020 was an emergency c section it was troubling but the staff and team were VERY Supportive and helpful , in 2021 I had my second child which the whole pregnancy I insisted on attempting VBAC , I had different nurses and other medical staff this time, the doctors were rudely pressuring me into having another C section for their own Convenience in my opinion, because the chances of uterine rupture was almost nonexistent which they were “ concerned” about, while I was trying to get time to make a decision with my husband, the YOUNG nurse who I got comfortable with told me to basically make a decision because I’m holding them up instead of being understanding. With all the pressure and them being annoyed with me for me wanting to make a decision based off of my own beliefs, I just gave in and went against my convictions. That was the most traumatic birth ever and I hope I don’t ever have to do it again with the same staff.
My wife got appointment for ERCP. Got a latter on mail and called before a day that she should be there at 9:am. And we reached in hospital as mentioned next day. They took us in procedure room, makes dress changed and we wait an another hours then finally one staff came and told us that my wife was not put in schedule…how they make this kinds of easy error…? How the staff from register not catch….? How …..? I don’t want to say all services in this hospital not good. They are absolutely good being one of the biggest hospital in Erie pa but being a staff of this level of service institution I never expect this kinds of errors. I know My couple of words doesn’t make any difference here but I wish they could have better staff …..?
Admitted January 2, 2023 to orthopedic floor through ER with nonorthopedic health problem. Every Dr, nurse, medical staff, lab technicians, dietary, and transporatation persons, treated me with such respect, kindness and with exemplary knowledge. I never had to wait for care, my bell to be answered or any help of any kind. I was so blessed to have the best of the best the 3 days i was there. I left knowing what is wrong with me and how to stay on track to getting better. Thank you each and every person i came in contact with. May the Lord richly bless each and everyone of you.
i would love to say thank you to everyone who helped me out and was so kind, i have been going through a not so very good time near the end of last week with some illness that kept dragging me not being able to go to school. finally me and my mom went to the er and they were on there things of course takes a little of time but they are busy busy bees with a lot of hard work! and they were being so kind and caring towards me, i felt in great hands and was treated very well, found out what it was and let me out. So again thank you guys for your help and cooperation with me! : Definitely a big thanks to Kevin, very cool guy and had a great conversation with him while he made me feel comfortable
The nurses and ER staff are rude, ignorant and have no care for you, it feels as if they’re there to argue with patients more than to care for them. Took my mom in because she was at high risk for stroke and they had us wait at the waiting room for 4hrs. Unacceptable and unethical behaviors from AHN. I highly recommend you not to go there unless you got all day to wait for absolutely no care
I was very disappointed with my treatment at St. Vincent Hospital. I went there with chest pain. My maintenance medications were changed including medications I take for Clinical Depression and Bipolar Disorder. This was done by a " hospitalist" who I never met. When I finally met a cardiologist, he ordered tests including a stress chest to rule out any heart issues. The machine used to give me the stress test broke and I received a neck injury; it happened at 6pm and was not addressed until 10am the next morning. No physical examination was completed including the large bump on my head. Finally, after advocating for myself, they completed an X-ray and a non-contrast cat scan. The Dr. told me there was no indication of any serious injuries to my neck. But the pain got worse including eyesight issues, coordination issues, and nausea. I had to ask 4 times for an ice pack. They never completed the stress test and I was discharged with the same chest pain I came in with as well as a neck injury never really examined. The place has incompetent doctors and nurses. Please don't go there. Go to UPMC Hamot where you will be treated by professionals and treated throughout your stay with dignity and respect. Later, after speaking with a civil rights attorney, I asked for a copy of my incident report. I was told I could not have one. It is PA law that a patient is allowed full access to their medical records. Again, please stay away from St. Vincent.
Nurses are very absent throughout the day and night nor are they sensitive with patients. My grandmother stubbed her swollen toe, while in pain she told the nurse and her response was "ah isn't that the worse" when my initial reaction would be to ask "are you ok?" My grandmother complaining about the painful bruises they leave after they DIG into your veins for the blood draw routines and their response is "we leave quite the souvenirs don't we". The nurses are unprofessional in my opinion.
