The place looks a bit sketchy from the outside, but once you walk in you'll be fine. The service was very fast and the employees were very kind. The menu is large so there are plenty of options to choose from. The spicy edamame was on point and the sushi was delicious. Definitely a hidden gem in Saugus that doesn't get enough love due to the beat down building structure that's not very inviting.
Absolutely excellent food. 10/10, would recommend. Try the sashimi! Note: They have a habit of bringing hot, wet hand towels to the table when you first sit down. Unusual, but actually kind of nice to clean your hands with.
Great suchi and authentic experience. I love the people who work there. We were created with a warm happy welcome and promptly lead to a table. The food was great. I had an avocado salad that was awesome. I'm definitely going back.
Our go to sushi restaurant in Saugus. Friendly staff. Fresh sushi, order the O Toro fatty tuna when they have it, melts in your mouth. Good selection of maki rolls and will also make hand rolls. The garlic steak is even really good if you are not into sushi.
Nothing wrong with the sushi here but not exceptional by any means. The atmosphere and service was much different 25 years ago, this is my first time returning.
Good food but service sucks. Waitresses on their phones. Asked for water 3 times. No luck. Fina3had to get up and ask for it again while they were playing on their phones. Must learn how to ask for water Japanese.
This place is amazing. Food is amazing. Staff is amazing. Atmosphere is amazing. Overall experience is amazing. You even have the option to eat in a more traditional japanese setting, by choosing the tables that are low to the ground, where you sit on the cushions. My girlfriend and I have been going here for months, since I moved to the area. It is seriously one of our favorite places to eat. We always come here for special occasions. Highly, highly, highly recommend coming here. If i could give 6 stars, I would.
My only favorite sushi place . Love their pizza sushi . The staff is the friendliest we have ever encountered
Sake is always such a pleasure to eat at! My grandmother has been coming here for decades, and it’s been our go-to for lunch dates ever since I was little. The sushi is fresh, the miso soup is quite frankly the only miso I’ll ever love... and honestly, I don’t think I’ve disliked a single thing I’ve ever ordered here. Since I’ve been out of state for college, I always find myself missing the food especially the vegetable tempura- you won’t find a crispier tempura anywhere else! What makes Sake so special to me is that the staff always treats us like family. Even if it’s been months since our last visit, the owner at the door is always happy to see my grandmother and gives her a hug and a huge smile. This is truly a special place for my family, and the staff make it memorable every time with their delicious food and friendliness! I’ve been hearing on and off for the past several years that Sake is closing down. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I want to thank the staff and owner so much for everything. It’s been an absolute pleasure to dine at your restaurant all these years! Whatever the future holds, I’ll have fond memories of Sake and wish you all the best in life. <3
Long time customer and everyone here are so wonderful! Not only they are kind and generous, but the food is delicious. My kids love their udon noodle. They are very picky but Sake was kind enough to customize their order every single time, at no charge. I highly recommend this restaurant.
