Salon 116

Rude, judgemental, and criticisized me throughout haircut. I literally thought about walking out in the middle of the haircut. Gave lots of unwanted advice on my baby. Kept fishing for details about my baby when I didn't want to talk about him. Said I wasn't feeding my baby enough without knowing how much I feed him and that's why he doesn't sleep very long. Told me she fed her baby til he was full so he slept....as if I wasn't feeding my baby til he was full! All the criticism made me so uncomfortable and in a bad mood, then she tells me my energy that I give off was causing my baby to not sleep. She said he should get off his multivitamin that the Dr prescribed and disagreed with the doctor on best sleep position. She kept touching my baby and his stroller. I kept getting quiet to not continue this unwanted advice and judgement and criticism. Then she kept asking me if anything was wrong. I was so uncomfortable and ready to dart for the door that I told her to skip the blow drying part when she was having trouble locating the blow dryer. Tipped 15% and left with wet hair. My mom said I shouldn't have tipped, but I tip everyone...even bad service. She definitely left me with bad energy. Called and requested manager. Manager is out on maternity leave, so this review will have to do. First time I ever had an issue with a hairdresser and hopefully the last.Services: Shampoo & conditioning

I love Salon 116. Cassie Richmond is my stylist but I’ve been going here for so long, I know them all. I have naturally curly hair so I’m picky but Cassie is awesome! She does my daughter’s hair too & has been a lifesaver for many dances and formal events. Brittney, the owner has made many upgrades to the salon and it’s just beautiful. The atmosphere is fun & energetic and you can tell all the stylists enjoy working there. It’s high quality but affordable. My friend from Louisville drove here just to get her hair colored because she said it’s the BEST place and prices are so affordable. I highly recommend this place and can’t say anything but good about it!Services: Shampoo & conditioning

Salon 116, this was a great experience for me. Andrea is the one that did my hair and my eyebrows, she did a WONDERFUL JOB!!! She is awesome and nice, she talks to you like a person!! I highly recommend Salon 116 and Andrea to do the styling you want!!!

Brittany Himes is a fantastic stylist, and colorist! She really knows what she's doing when it comes to long hair. She talks to you throughout the whole process to make sure you understand what she's doing and what to expect. I will most definitely go to for all my hair needs from now on! So glad I've finally found another stylist that I like!

I get my facials and dermaplaning done here by Katie and they are amazing! I've been going about once a month for several months now and I can see and feel a big difference in my skin. I'm already looking forward to going to my next appt and I just left there!

The set up is quant and everyone seems very kind as well as professional. I don't know about any of the other hair dressers there but KayeLynn is fantastic! She handles my wife's short pixie cut and my shoulder length perfectly. Even does a wonderful wash and braid for me when there is time.

KayeLynn is amazing! I have lived in Richmond for almost 3 years and have been trying to find a new stylist here ever since. I have tried several places here and a few in Lexington as well. I was desperate! My daughter is getting married in four days and I was well overdue for a good cut and shape up. I have been wanting to try Salon 116 for a while so I finally called and was willing to take whoever they would give me that can fit me in today & that was also very competent & very capable, that’s a tall order I know! Not only did KayeLynn fill that order, she had to wait on me the one time I got off work late, she made me feel completely comfortable, so much so that the haircut was over before I knew it! She did such an amazing job that I literally wanted to hug her before I left, lol. I absolutely love the cut and I am so thankful that I have finally found a stylist here in Richmond!

I called and asked how much it would cost for two tones to have my roots done and a haircut. I was told depending on the stylist it would range from $100-120. I went, the original stylist canceled last minute and had someone else do it... The girl who did my hair pretty much just added blonde highlights and I left with my roots VERY obviously still gray. When we initially first discussed the "plan of action" she had asked if I was ok going a little darker, I said that was fine, I would like a little more dimension. I left BLONDER than I went it! Also, I've never in my life had to fold my own foils for the stylist as she worked. She literally handed me a tote of foils and said "I work as fast as you hand them to me". She complained about how she doesn't like some of her clients and overcharges them to get them to stop coming to her. She continued bragging about how good her skills were and that "rich women that she doesn't like" will come to see her even when she DOES overcharge. After all of this... I ended up paying $145!! $25 more than the higher estimate I was given over the phone, and she did less!! I still gave her a twenty for a tip and paid for my daughter's haircut as well because the work was done, but needless to say this was the worst experience I've ever had and I'm sorry to say will not be getting my business again :

I love going to get my hair done by Cassie Richmond she's wonderful!! The location is great and everyone there is super friendly.

Great atmosphere with an experienced staff. Ask for Liz, she's the best!
