We arrived at Tybee Island close to closing for the Salt Island Fish and Beer but we had no problem getting a table. Even at 9pm on a Saturday night, they were pretty busy. Our server said they had only one special left, fresh caught Georgia shrimp served boiled peel and eat with fries. How are you going to pass on fresh peel and eat shrimp?! I ordered that and my wife ordered the fried grouper sandwich. We were both happy with our selections. The shrimp were fantastic. The fried grouper sandwich was also great and not greasy at all. The watermark for us was that we both agreed that we would order our entrees again. The fries here were very good - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Our server, although she was busy, was very attentive and friendly. There is a playful vibe and a very laid back beach decor in the restaurant. It’s really bright and light colored and very inviting. All in all. we really enjoyed our dinner at Salt Island!
Excellent! I had the whole black sea bass and my fiance had the grouper. We also ordered the hush puppies for an appetizer. Everything we ordered was so delicious. Definitely recommend eating here! Yum!Food: 5/5
Hannah was a great server and didn’t even realize she was also a bartender too while serving us!!!! Food is awesome tho we enjoyed the most was fried oysters, sadly not enough oysters but the mussels I would also recommend and the fried oysters that included the well seasoned Brussel sprouts was super unexpected!Food: 5/5
Really mad I’m just finding this place because it’s awesome!! Very cute restaurant with AMAZING food. Staff is great- Leslie was our server and he was very attentive and helpful. Definitely will be backFood: 5/5
Great Food!!!! We had a nice mix of seafood dishes and Roasted pig. We had fantastic friendly staff. We especially loved the shrimp on the poboy but the roll was ciabatta and a big too bready. Fried oysters and pickles was amazing. Roasted pork dish was enjoyable but not what I expected, it had more of an Asian twist that a bbq dish. Just make sure you ask what is in it first. Ice cold beer too. Definitely a big step above tourist food.
10/10 AMAZING experience! We were in Tybee Island for my mom’s 50th birthday trip and decided to go to Salt Island for her birthday dinner with a large group of 10. We had no problem getting seated together even though we couldn’t make reservations, we went around 5pm. Our waitress Laila was SO nice and attentive! We had a shellfish allergy in the group and our waitress constantly reassured us that she remembered the allergy and was making sure the food was prepared safely. Everyone’s food and drinks were fresh and delicious. Our group especially enjoyed the grouper, kalua pork, fried rice, and grits. Salad apps looked fantastic, and the brussel sprouts were good if you enjoy blue cheese. It was the perfect spot for her birthday dinner and we will definitely return if we are ever in Tybee again!
This place is amazing. We came here with 4 people, two of whom are gluten free. The GF options are fantastic!! I had a salmon poke bowl & my son had crab corn soup & elote. Everything was exceptional! We're only visiting Tybee Island for a few more days, but we're coming back here again before we leave!
My wife and I came to Tybee for the first time and discovered Salt Island. Anne who was our server was very pleasant welcoming to us as we are from Canada. Anne made food suggestions as my wife and I were not interested in fast food or traditional American quisine. We had the best experince and went back several times. The brisket and crab soup and the mediteranian salad were amazing. Hats off to the chef!!!! What an amazing experience!! We the North thank you !!!
This place is a hidden gem that exceeded all our expectations with its outstanding seafood dishes, impressive menu variety, and commitment to sustainability, offering a delightful customer experience. The cozy ambiance, VERY friendly and knowledgeable staff, and an respected food selection further enhance the overall dining experience. From the freshest catches to perfectly executed flavors, every bite is a treat for the taste buds, making Salt Island Fish and Beer a must-visit destination for seafood lovers and anyone seeking a memorable and satisfying meal.
Hannah was amazing and they fit me in even though they were turning over the lunch to dinner menu. First real seafood I enjoyed on my trip. Cool vibes and great bourbon selection. Would definitely go back.Food: 5/5
