After having to cancel our wedding due to COVID, my husband and I decided to elope in Bellingham at the last minute in December 2020. I had heard of Saltadena Bakery and had always wanted to try it, so thought it would be the perfect place to get a small cake for our big day. We chose a vanilla cake with brown sugar molasses from the website and WOW did it not disappoint! We couldn’t stop talking about that cake for weeks! We ordered another cake for our 1-year anniversary and will continue to do so every December. I also can’t get enough of the Lil’ Scrappies!!
Nancy was a joy to work with in designing our wedding cake! I have been a fan of the lil’ scrappies for a while now and we knew pretty early on which flavors we would want for our cake! We went with the classic “Saltydena” and passionfruit funfetti flavors which were both perfectly moist and abundantly flavorful! The design was gorgeous in the end and we couldn’t be happier with how it came together! Love that we can get our cake in lil’ scrappie form whenever we are craving it in the future which is often. Thanks Nancy you are the best!!
Nancy created the most BEAUTIFUL wedding cake for our special day!! Her cakes are truly a work of art and taste delicious!! We purchased a cake tasting which was a lot of fun and we were very impressed by the quality of her ingredients and some of the creative flavors. We are so grateful we got to work with Nancy and will 100000% be returning to Saltadena every time we visit Bellingham!
Wow, a huge thank you to Nancy and her team at Saltadena! Not only did our wedding cake look beautiful the orchids we're gorgeous!! and taste amazing, but Nancy was so pleasant and professional. We really appreciated her prompt responses in email correspondences and thoroughness when arranging the cake pick up. We elected to pick it up ourselves, and Nancy gave us a secured box and tips for transport. It is clear that she cares deeply for her craft and the satisfaction of her customers. Next time we're in Bellingham, we'll have to try some of your other tasty treats!
The service here is amazing. Their cream puffs are a must try! I love their rotating monthly flavors. Their cakes are also incredible. I highly recommend.
We worked with the owner, Nancy to design our 3 tiered wedding cake and it turned out perfect! The cake was so delicious and we received several raving compliments from our guests. I highly recommend Saltadena if you are in the search of a wedding cake vendor in the Greater Bellingham area.
Do your tastebuds a favor and treat yourself to a date with some Saltadena Bakery goods! It’s my favorite place for a mama/daughter date. We LOVE the macarons. They are some of the best I have ever had and really unique flavors!
This bakery is so amazing I don’t even know where to start! First, their cream puffs are amazing and they have rotating flavors—the ones I tried were London fog, pistachio orange and peanut butter chocolate. I am not a peanut butter fan but this bakery will convert you! The flavors and textures are out of this world. I have lived in NY and Philadelphia as well as traveled extensively throughout the country and in other parts of the world and I have not found a bakery that can rival this one. I patronize French bakeries whenever I am in the vacinity of one and always get macarons, and the ones at Saltadena are the best I’ve ever had! I fully tested their metal when I ordered a custom cake for my birthday. Words cannot express my gratitude for the talent, skill and creativity that went into my cake! It was the most beautiful cake I have ever seen and the flavors and the moistness of the cake were unsurpassed! Plus, they are as friendly as can be! If you’re within driving distance or visiting the area, make sure to stop by and get something that will be a party for your senses!
So this is going to be a long one, but stick with me. My husband and I planned a day in Bellingham for a cake tasting from a specific bakery in the area with a flashy website, but it turned out to be a disaster - think dense and flavorless. The next day we drove around Bellingham sampling EVERY bakery. Saltadena blew the rest out of the water! They are hands down THE BEST BAKERY in Bellingham and possibly the best cake I've EVER eaten. We tried two of their cakes that day: mint chocolate and vanilla with coconut and cardamom buttercream. Those two alone were reason enough to stop looking, but we, of course, wanted more. So we got the cake sampler. I would eat that whole thing again. I highly recommend getting the sampler even for casual cake eating - it was that delicious. Never mind the fact that my best friend is a professional baker and couldn't stop eating Saltadena's cakes. They're that good! So we ended up going with vanilla cake which I never thought I'd do - being the chocolate fan that I am with coconut, cardamom, AND passionfruit buttercream for the bottom tier. And then the top tier was chocolate black pepper cake with salt and pepper buttercream. It was incredible! People could not stop talking about how good both the cakes were at my wedding! My in-laws even want to have cake shipped to them to the other side of the country! Finally, the owner - Nancy - was a delight to work with. She didn't respond super quickly because she is a busy gal, but I didn't have a problem with that. She always followed up and had everything well in hand so I never had to worry. TLDR: look no further, go to Saltadena for all your baked goods needs! You will not be disappointed!

She promptly responded to my initial inquiry and set up a tasting with the specific flavors I requested.
