A fun and quirky restaurant with a sports bar atmosphere. The wait staff was excellent! She cheerfully attended to our needs, even anticipated them. Unfortunately, she could not make up for the lack of seasoning and flavor in the food. The food is pretty and below average - especially for the price. If you are coming to watch a game or grab a beer - this place is perfect. If you want something remotely closer to authentic Mexican cuisine look elsewhere. Parking: In a strip mall with plenty of parking.
Absolutely Top-Notch Food and Service. If you are fortunate enough to get Justin or Emma as your server prepare to be delighted. I come from Wichita 2-3times a month to enjoy the food, atmosphere and service beyond expectation!! It's my brand new Go-To spot. The manager Sets will also exceed your expectations. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant!!! Enjoy!!
They got 40 people with 11 rowdy baseball boys in and did absolutely fantastic for us! They were kind, helpful, and let us stay after closing to finish up. Great time!!!Food: 5/5
Such a neat atmosphere in the restaurant with the murals of iguana people living their lives. The drink was underwhelming. I got a frozen raspberry margarita. The flavor was very very weak which made it mainly tequila water. The spotlight of the food is the iguana dip. If you like queso get this dip it won't disappoint. The rest of the food is well made typical Mexican food options. I got the cream cheese enchilada which could have used more flavor but was good nonetheless. I would come again!
First off, as any Mexican restaurant is first judged by the chips and salsa, this one was excellent. Flavorful salsa with a good tomato taste and large chips. The lunch specials were nice and the unique 'Iguana' decor was fun.
Everything was delicious. Had a great time with 20+ people in our party. Our waiter and servers were great.Food: 5/5
We moved back to Lawrence to retire after 30 years in Texas and found this little gem. Oh my. What delicious TexMex they have! Being from Dallas, we know this place hits the mark. Recommend it to anyone!Food: 5/5
Great service, I've never had an issue here. The management must treat their people well. The food is good! Definitely more tex-mex so take that into consideration when ordering. I got the fish burrito I forget what it's called on the menu, sorry and I asked for it as a burrito bowl. They are always willing to accommodate that, and I very much appreciate it! aka gluten free friendly Oh, and if you like spicy salsa, you can ask for that as part of the chips and salsa set up. It's good! I gave 4 stars on the atmosphere only because the music was a little loud to be able to hold a conversation and it was hot/stuffy inside that day. It is a Lawrence classic with awesome murals on the wall! So definitely check it out if you're from out of town. Dietary restrictions: You can ask for gluten free chips. The ones they initially bring out to the table are a corn/flour combo. They will bring out an individual size bag of chips, I forget the brand. But they're always nice about it and willing to accommodate.
Our waiter had the personality of drywall and every time we saw him he was rubbing his hand through his hair. He looked like he just crawled out of bed. Service was slow. I received my entree before my husband received the only beer he ordered. Never brought water or asked if we wanted another drink. Food was mediocre at best. We will not be going back.
The food was absolutely horrible. I ordered the Carnitas after seeing they were an Iguana Classic. They must be good - right? WRONG! The pork was rock hard, dry and tasted worse than meat that has been in the fridge, unsealed, for a longtime and then reheated in a microwave. And it wasn’t just the carnitas. The rice was that was too as were the enchiladas of the other person with me. The only thing that wasn’t was was the chips, salsa and queso and the cheese quesadilla that my child ordered. When the server came and asked if we wanted a box I said definitely not. I was not rude. He asked how everything was and I just said it really was pretty terrible. His response was simple Oh. Sorry to hear that. Did not offer to make it right it anyway. I didn’t go there hoping to get anything for free but I’ve worked in customer service long enough to know that you never want a customer to leave with that feeling! Service recovery is a whole marketing strategy and that was textbook horrendous. I can’t believe that place is in business with food that horrible and service that mediocre.
