Sam Ash Music Stores

Definitely worth the trip. Went in looking for some gear to be able to jam with. Had my head in getting a portable unit but my salesperson steered me another way. Ended up saving some money and got much more bang for my buck. My local Sam Ash has a decent variety of all types of instruments. Guitar Center doesn’t even come close.

OMG! Anyone who is a musician or works in something that has to do with event production knows what I'm going to say, this place is paradise. I confess that most of the time I go just to play some instruments and see if there is something new and interesting and yes I end up buying some accessories. A few months ago I bought a Japanese Takamine G20 guitar through the website. Unfortunately the product came defective and I returned it to the physical store. I was very well attended, they didn't ask me many questions, I just showed the defect and the seller processed the return, a few days later my money was returned and as they didn't have another unit available I had to buy the same guitar in another online store, however I would buy again with SamAsh because they were very honest at that time, I recommend it.

This place is a music lover’s paradise! Our son needed to have his saxophone cleaned and repaired so we took the drive from Davidson. Well worth it! They have an in-house tech named Daniel & he is patient & thorough, and you can really tell he takes pride in his work. I really liked that! The manager of this store is also really nice! The place is packed with merchandise. Instruments for just about anything & anyone. You have got to check this store out! Conveniently located by Costco, too. I took plenty of pics. Check them out!

Store has a lot of various departments, with a couple of department areas looking abandoned, drum and audio section need a tidy. You can see which sections receive the most attention probably, shouldn’t be the case. Employees are great and helpful going above and beyond but if you need to walk 3 miles to find someone that’s a problem. Overall decent shopping experience.

It’s a very nice, large store with a large selection. I looked around for a bit & then let one of the team members know that I didn’t know how to play guitar, but have been really interested over the past few years of picking the hobby up & was ready to truly commit & learn. I asked him what he recommended & I was told “Whatever is most comfortable”, which is logical advice but okay. So I looked for quite a while longer & picked out a few I was interested in purchasing with the intent of trying them out. While I was looking, I noticed some guy in a back room just watching me look. While waiting in line for a while, I made the conscious decision that I’d rather go home & do some research on the ones I was interested in before making an instinct purchase. As I’m walking out the door, some associate standing at the front gave me the complete Thief Eye & went running to the back shouting “I need to run back to guitar”. So you have enough associates to keep a bird’s eye on customers, but not enough to help them? When I am ready to commit, I don’t see this being the place. Real nice place, but that amount of distrust & lack of help is just not acceptable.

We always have a positive experience at the Sam Ash on Westpark Dr, so I wanted to add a special shout-out to Damon Shaw. Can't emphasize enough the amazing customer service Damon provided when my son and I came in a couple of times to pick out some things for his birthday. My teen is a pretty talented drummer, so we came in knowing exactly what he was looking for. Damon easily provided that and then was able to offer additional suggestions. Absolutely no pressure, simply take-it-or-leave-it suggestions based on his own extensive experience as a musician and his knowledge of everything Sam Ash has available including rebates, promotions, etc. Damon is personable, knowledgeable, patient with both adults and teens and generous with his time. We will for sure be asking for him every time we're in the store.

Greg helped me pick out.a new violin and gave some great tips. The store is full of instruments and sheet music. Very impressed!

I want to love this place because it really is well stocked, but both times I’ve come here I had pretty unwelcoming experiences with one of the guitar staff. I also bought something that had a certain price, but when I was rung up a different, slightly higher price came up. I mentioned that the price on the item was different, and the person said that the listed price was probably a joke and incorrect, so I was charged the higher price. I feel like most places would’ve honored the price on the actual item, but the price difference was small to where it wasn’t worth arguing about but also since it was so small, would it have been a big deal to ring me up for that price?

I had such a great experience here the other day and the guy was a great salesman and helped me pick the guitar I felt was best for me. I literally took it out of the box next day, removed it from the bag and the back of the guitar was dented in. We thought we picked a good box seeing as the other one had looked like it had been chewed through or ripped open on the bottom. Check your instrument before you leave the store. Hopefully, I will have no issues exchanging it. ***They exchanged it and the guy even tuned up my guitar for me. Awesome customer service, Thank you Eric!!!
