The room and bathroom were good and clean. A/C worked great. The room had no connections to charge your phone, so be sure to bring your own. Parking for cars is good. If you're bringing a group in a big bus, be ready to test your driving skills. Hopefully, your bus has a hydraulic lift, or your bus will scrape the front and rear end entering and leaving the hotel. Parking for buses is across the street in a big parking lot. The fitness area is very small. Overall, the front desk personnel were ok, except one young male kid who was cocky on answering a question. Overall, this hotel is satisfactory, nothing to brag about. Rooms: Comfortable
The hotel is an excellent location for a visit to SHSU. The staff was pleasant & the room was clean. The hotel & furnishings are dated. I felt like I was in a hotel from the 1980s complete with desk phone & yellow pages phone book. If you are staying Friday, Saturday &/or Sunday nights no cleaning services are provided. The hotel does not provide free breakfast or even free coffee in the lobby. Lobby coffee is available for purchase. It is a no smoking hotel. However, benches near the front door are used for smoking & are littered with weeks worth of cigarette butts. Safety: Seemed very safe. Walkability: Easy to walk from the hotel to areas on the campus. Food & drinks: Vending machines are on the second floor. No breakfast provided.
Rooms are pretty nice but the AC wasn’t the best. No breakfast, pool, or hot tub. Nice access to SHSU.Rooms: 4/5
Exceeded my expectations, very nice for the cheep price, no free breakfast so that was a bummer, but other than that it was great bathroom was was really good, beds were fine, and the location was great! Staff was nice, and we were able to book a room for the night same day! Will be choosing this hotel again
Stayed for a week to be with my daughter. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and clean. Decent amenities. Not tons of food choices but being on campus and not having to drive back and forth was a huge plus. Good prices, too.Rooms: 5/5
First time staying. Came to visit my shsu student for his birthday. I thought he'd want to stay the night but he said he'd stay in his dorm lol. Other reviews about bed are right. I woke up with sore back and the bed is too big for platform so bed slides off corners. I have no other complaints. For perspective, we love hotel stays and don't stay I'm anything less than 4 plus stars. So for me to say I was ok with everything then it's just fine. It also may be my loyalty and grace to shsu since my kiddo attends here. His 2 siblings loved it. Although they are 6 and 8 they pretty much think room service is free at hotels and pools are a requirement. So if a hotel doesn't have those they are like uhmmm naw. So for them to be like we loved this place. No breakfast. Very quiet. Is in the criminal justice building. I did have to buy a blow dryer at Walmart since 1 on wall is attached to wall. Room was freezing cold so AC was great. We thought we were only ones here but did see others a time or 2. College students running it were pleasant and nice. Very quiet kids. Everything and everyone was quiet. Pleasant. Chill. TV was regular cable. I forgot that existed. I didn't bring my roku because I was like oh they will have Netflix. We never watched TV anyway. Went put to eat, shopping, church, spent couple hours at his dorm. Took me a few days of searching reviews and hotels in area to realize they all have bad reviews. Seems like nicest one is Hilton in Conroe. Was going to book it for 180$ but was like man that's kinda expensive for 1 night when we only live 2 hours from the college and can just drive home. Kept googling and googled parent stay on campus and it brought me to Sam Houston hotel. Was 120$ for everything. I'd say 100$ is better as max or maybe 80$ but due to shsu support I'm fine with it. Website should show more pics then just the bed. Other majors on campus could help with certain things like the other review said but all in all...I'd stay again when coming down. When I called to ask questions about the room, the young lady said the hotel is top rated in huntsville. I actually think she's right.
Stayed here for a week, the hotel itself exceeded my expectations. Only issue for me was the staff didn’t refresh my towels daily. I had to go to the front desk and ask for some, but other than that it was a very pleasant stay.
Nice little hotel on campus. Everything has been recently updated. The students running the front desk were pleasant and knowledgeable. Very quiet on the floors. The only reason for the 4 star review and the only negatives, the west facing room took some time to cool down and the beds seemed to slope downward from the center to both sides. Felt like I was going to slide off into the floor all night and was very difficult to relax.

I stayed in the hotel a couple of weeks ago. The head of housekeeping, Cynthia, was so sweet and helpful. In speaking to her, I discovered she was a housekeeper there the last time I stayed... 30 years ago! Anyway so pleasant and caring. Thank you for an exceptionally clean room!
