Stopped in here for the first time. Have to say I was impressed. I ordered the Lamb gyro combo platter. It was excellent tasting and the portions were good which was a pleasant surprise. Everything was fresh! If I am in the area again Sam's Gyros is on my radar!Food: 5/5
This is load-you-up, tasty, college type of Mediterranean food!... Ate this food with some coworkers and I must say I'm pleasantly impressed. I got the lamb gyro with rice. Bam-a-lamb is what I gotta say! Shoot. I mean. Its fresh, tasty, flavorful. Exactly what you want and expect from a gyro place. I honestly like the rice a little bit more than the gyro to be honest. Although it all was wonderful. If you want some classic type of Mediterranean food check this place out
I tried this place for the first time yesterday just on a whim because it was next to the Cricket store I had to go to and I was not disappointed...the food was amazing and the staff was so friendly. Seriously could eat here once a week. Will definitely be back soon.Food: 5/5
We had the Lamb Gyro and Beef Shawarma. They were delicious. This is our second time stopping here and it’s becoming a favorite.Food: 5/5
Myself and my family were visiting from Indiana and went to this place both nights we were there! Ordered a variety of things lamb platter, philly cheese steak platter, chicken shawarma and chicken tenders all were amazing and so flavorful. They don't skimp on the meat or side toppings either. Their tambuli and grape leaves were so good, literally some of the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. Reasonably priced and great service overall, really nice people. I will definitely be back when I'm in town again 10/10!
I'll start with the positive. Friendly servers and generous portions. The guy who took my order barely warmed my thick, cold, hard pita bread. I watched him touch it to the grill, one second on each side, which does nothing. The hummus was the worst I've ever tasted. It was too salty, with no favor and not smooth. It almost seemed on the sour side. Although very generous with their meet portions, the meat was too salty, which overpowered the meat. The baklava was the worst. It was way too sweet and left an aftertaste like a surgery donut. My guess is high fructose corn syrup was in the ingredient list. I wish I could have given a more positive review, but when you pay for food only to throw much of it in the trash can, I feel like it was a waste of money. We dumped the hummus and pita bread and part of the salad.
Fantastic little locally owned restaurant. Food was incredibly good, best Gyro I have had in KY. I will come back.Food: 5/5
I got the lamb gyro platter $12.70. The food was very fresh and was a huge portion.Recommended dishesLamb Gyro Combo with Rice and Tzatziki Sauce
One of the best gyros I've ever had. And one of the most plentiful. Was probably enough for 2 people! Gyro, rice or fries and drink for $11. It was a huge amount of food for the price. Guys behind the counter were super friendly and helpful. Look forward to returning to this authentic immigrant operated restaurant. I was looking for a fresh salad in Louisville, where I'm visiting, and Sam's Gyro popped up. I was a bit skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a falafel salad, and all the ingredients were fresh, and the falafel made to order, 5 pieces. The salad was tasty, highly recommend it. I will be going back tomorrow to take on my flight back home. Service was courteous, professional, and attentive!! Excellent choice!!!
