Sam Sylk's Chicken And Fish

Just moved back to Cleveland two weeks ago after being away for a long time. To come back and see Sam Sylk has his own restaurants made me smile. I enjoyed listening to him on the radio when I was a kid. I ordered pickup via the DoorDash app and picked up my food with no problems. The catfish sandwich is the bomb. I’ve had catfish in other cities but Cleveland folks make some of the best catfish. It was so good. Can’t wait to try out the rest of the menu.

My experience was absolutely horrible. The cashier wasn't welcoming. The manager was rude to a customer about fixing their order. The kitchen team talk more than work. My food was quoted 10-15 min and took 25min. When I received my food my fish was fresh but my fries were old and cold. The kitchen does not follow proper food safety which intels using gloves when handling food. I am disappointed in my people. Black owned businesses need to tighten up their quality of service. We are already presented in a negative light. I will not be back.

I went to the Garfield Hts location and ordered a 5 wing dinner with mac and coleslaw. The cashier forgot my coleslaw and I sent my daughter back in and no one was at the register. She had to actually go into the back to get the cook. I never received my coleslaw because my daughter had already waited at the counter for over 10 minutes. Not to mention the price of my meal was $15.99, for which I waited over 20 minutes . The wings were so tiny and the mac was very salty. I called back and asked for contact info to make a complaint and the young man decided he wanted to be argumentative and he hung up on me. For some reason the door was locked and people had to bang on the door to get in. Also the place is very dark and doesn't look very clean. I hate to see an establishment, especially a black establishment getting bad reviews due to their employees and customer service. I wish Sam Sylk the best , but he needs to realize that everything that happens at his restaurants are a reflection on him. I still want my coleslaw.

Not bad over Uber Eats. I got a beef polish boy and a perch snack. I love the hush puppies and the lemonade in the jar with worth every penny; HOWEVER, not only was the lemonade not in a jar, it was not the same quality either. It was a terrible watered-down wet one undeserving of a beverage title not worth a cent. This place needs much consistency and consideration for what it serves customers.

Ordered through GrubHub just now. Received my food in time. Did not receive fries for one meal. The ones we received were cold, very skinny, a little hard. No coleslaw on one of the dinners. Hush puppies were real hard, received two. They were suppose to replace the bread.

This establishment is one of the reasons black owned businesses have a bad rep! Everytime I go here not often there is an issue! The customer service is horrible, today the young man working watched my son and I walk in, didn't greet us, didn't ask if he could help us or anything, he walked to the back and didn't return for at least 10 minutes! A woman with a call in had to tell to get him to come to the front & even then he never acknowledged us nor did the young lady cooking who saw us as well! They have a posted menu with no prices and didn't answer the phone after we called several times before going there! Last few times our food was terrible or someone else's order, Even then I had to deal with smart mouths and attitudes to correct what I paid for! Don't care if I'm starving I refuse to support this business! How many times do these mfs think someone who is spending their hard earned money have to deal with this for some mediocre chicken and fish!!

An order was placed for a Whiting dinner. They only cook food per order. The food was well worth waiting for. It was soooo good, delicious, tasty, not too salty, seasoned just right!.Food: 5/5

Sam Sylk's is really good every time I visit. I usually get the chicken and fries with a drink, but this time I tried to fish and it was really good and all of the orders are cooked seem like right then and there. A little longer wait but it's worth it it was still hot when I got back home to Elyria.Food: 5/5

Well its so much to say. Let's just start from me walking in the door. Didn't look like a restaurant wasn't clean. Cooking area im not sure didnt look dirty from what I saw Good customer service. Chicken was salty n the fish was over cooked fries was pretty good tho. Definitely over priced but everything is these days. Other folks like it tho I just prefer to live without diabetes! The other one was soooo much better Southgate!

Chicken was dry looking burnt and the fries were cold . False advertisement at its best. Would never go back unless they get a new cook
