The San Francisco Police Officer's Pride Alliance is an organization of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Law Enforcement professionals, their friends, supporters and co-workers.
The Pride Alliance was established to represent all LGBT members of the SFPD on matters of hiring, promotion and job assignments. It is the primary function of this organization to assure that all LGBT members are fairly represented. We stand as a united employee group which has a significant seat at the table with our police administration.
Our members represent all ranks within the department as well as civilian members of the department. We are proud that the highest rank achieved by one of our members is the rank of Deputy Chief of Police.
Pride Alliance is a dues paying, tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization.
We have established a scholarship fund in the name of Officer Jon C. Cook who died on June 12, 2002 in a tragic on-duty accident as he was responding to another officer's call for assistance. Officer Cook was the first LGBT officer killed in the line of duty in San Francisco. The Cook Scholarship Fund has been established to assist LGBT youth in San Francisco, children of LGBT parents and children of the SFPD in thier pursuit for higher education. For details, interested parties should contact us through our website.
We are very proud to serve the citizens and visitors of San Francisco .
