Great place to get ready for your exam. Internet is free and fast enough. Beautiful building inside and outside. High ceiling, plenty of windows and sunshine inside. Two bathrooms. Printer, scanner, computers to use.
Been doing a tour of all the local libraries this Summer. I absolutely love libraries, they are sacred spaces. My big gripe though is that people speak at regular volume or speak loudly in the library-weren’t people taught to whisper in the library so that others can focus and concentrate? Every damn library even the librarians talk loud like they’re in a cafe! Ssssht be quiet ! I’ve even witnessed people talking on their phones in the library!
Staff is nice, but very quiet and sometimes gives the impression that they are afraid to people. Is a small branch compared to other SF branches and outside SF libraries. It has a good colection of items, but it could have more. What makes me rate the library with 3 stars is the fact that the serving hours are horrible. Even the Fairfax library has better hours 9am to 8pm every single day and Fridays is 10am to 8pm this is being open to the community. It will be nice to have all the SF libraries open with a better schedule. Besides that, he place is really nice and clean with lots of windows around it. Nice atmosphere.
I was reading Richard Brautigan and he gave the address to this library. With Google Maps at my fingertips I thought I’d check it out to see if it’s legit and here it is! Of course I gave it 5 stars because, well, this is Richard Brautigan.
Nice little library stood out from the neighboring residential area.
Beautiful library. Check hours before you go to make sure they are open.
I lived just 2 blocks down on California Streett for 10 years and visited the library many times. They have many rare and hard to find books not easily found in other libraries. Almost nobody visits the library, so it'll all to yourself. Great Staff! Beautiful Building and nice little park to play with your dogs too!
Great section for kids and very helpful librarians. They've recommended many wonderful books for my kids I might have otherwise not found. Also love it's not as crowded as other libraries, set in peaceful neighborhood and historical building.
This is a great library. Helpful staff, great books, and a whole section just for kids, where adults are only allowed in to supervise a toddler. The teen section is good, though I would recommend Common Sense Media for some of the books, because some can be quite scary or inappropriate.
Archaic structure. You might be nostalgic if you see some of its fine art photos. I get nostalgic every single time while I see presidio street with cable car one, snapped in 1912. Really fabulous place to study and keep abreast with current happenings. It constitutes all sort of daily newspapers and fashion magazines. Very neat and clean ..apt for studies. Free parking is ubiquitous, seldom you need to see nearby blocks to do that. Beautiful people and homelessness aren’t there whatsoever lol. If you’re old school and love to hangout with book at the libraries. Let me dispassionately say this, It’s the best place in SF. Keep reading guys!
