Dr Cynthia Wheat is an amazing compassionate and dedicated Dr As is the new cardiologist However we decided otherwise it is the worst place ever including turning off the oxygen the last day I was there and scaring my husband that if he didn't sign DNR he was goinr to be a vegetable. He is at this time doing quite well and walking all over and no health issues
This isnt so much about the hospital and more about your paramedic drivers. I've seen them flip people off on the road regularly and almost cause several accidents because they think they don't need to drive safely to a site and yes, just because they're lights are on doesn't mean they don't have to follow the rules of the road. Today one almost hit me and almost caused a major accident on the highway near adams state as they pulled on to the highway, not even slowing down for a stop sign, cutting across all lanes of traffic with out even checking to see if it was clear or giving any other cars time to react to them to pull over. Myself and 3 others card had to slam on the brakes and swerve just to avoid them and after that, the paramedic in the passenger seat throws his hands up and flips us off. I understand they are going to an emergency but flipping people off and having road rage issues as paramedics is pathetic. I hope the are better at saving lives than driving.
The hospital staff cannot even draw blood from a patient! Took my father in for pneumonia and 6 days later now has more kidney damage due to them taking his medication away. After him blowing up like a balloon & fluid coming out of his pores we had to transport him to Albuquerque ourselves after the staff there said they could not arrange for him to be transferred. So sad that the people are stuck with this kind of health care in this valley. The Dr cared more about the insurance coverage than my father's life.
I have been going back and forth with billing and the Dr at Valley Wide to get billing corrected for several months now. This has created an incorrect invoice for over $500.00 when bloodwork should have been covered by my insurance at 100%. I've spent hours on the phone to try and get this corrected. I would really appreciate this issue be corrected. The billing department is horrible. Double check your invoices. If I could give them a 0 I would! 2/27/2023 spoke to Miranda who was just nasty. I'm just trying to get my invoice fixed. Left a message on the manager voicemail.
Samuel Neil Sinclair was scheduled for hip surgery 6/20, OR wing had major maintenance glitches, he was rescheduled for 6/27,he received excellent treatment and care, Unclear as to why but prescriptions were supposedly sent to jacks mkt, after trips to Jack mkt, and 3 ph calls to hosp and calls to jks mkt, prescription is in limbo!?!? He just went thru surgery he NEEDS his pain medication
Kind of sad when it’s the only big hospital in the San Louis Valley and they can’t take their trash out of the room when done packaging and human waist have been left around the room and in the trash can we had to put the trash at the door for them to take out… it’s a bit sad to me knowing they wouldn’t do that if state inspectors were here… trashing in our eyes.
I waited an hour for labs, hospital staff refused to draw my blood despite doctors orders. No one in HR can direct me to someone to talk about this issue.
Other patient allowed to listen to controversial news program without head phones. His subsequent statement putting down those wearing masks was not appropriate for the medical setting. I want a waiting room I feel safe in. This was decidedly uncomfortable.
I've had past, not so great experiences, with family in this hospital and shared my thoughts with the administration. In the last week I've spent about 7 hours in the ER with two different family members. Brenda, a nurse, was responsible both times and she is absolutely wonderful. I forgot the doctor's name, but my Mom really appreciated his explanations and offering more tests if she wanted. Not sure if something changed or we got lucky, but the recent experiences have been better but the providers I've dealt with recently seemingly care.
Labor and delivery nurse Roachelle was AMAZING!! She was so nice and attentive. I arrived at the hospital 8cm dilated. She stayed by my side throughout labor and delivery cheering me on! After delivery she was so kind and helpful. One of the best nurses I’ve ever had after having 3 kids!
