San Rafael City Schools includes the San Rafael City Elementary and San Rafael City High School Districts governed by a common Board & administration.
Founded in 1861, San Rafael City Schools is comprised of two legally defined school districts; San Rafael City Elementary School District and San Rafael City High School District.
The district are governed by a common Board of Education and a shared central administration.
The Elementary District includes: Bahia Vista,Elementary K-5, Coleman, Elementary K-5, Glenwood, Elementary K-5, Laurel Dell Elementary K-5, San Pedro Elementary K-5, Short Elementary K-3, , Sun Valley Elementary K-5, Venetia Valley K-8, and Davidson Middle School serves students in grades 6, 7 and 8.
The High School District includes; Terra Linda High School, San Rafael High School and Madrone High School. Students from the San Rafael Elementary District and the Dixie School District attend the San Rafael High School District.
