This place is very run down compared to the pictures. 1. The place could be a gold mine if it was taken care of - the bathhouse is in need of repairs, flooding showers, ventilation is horrible, it smells of sewer, the shower heads need replaced, there's not enough hooks or shelves in the open room or in stalls, no in-shower benches. 2. The cleanliness of the shower house -not maintained enough. The pictures show a clean functional pool- that's false- the stagnant pool is unacceptable, full of black water, and has been out of service for years according to staff. 3. The dilapidated RVs sitting around the grounds should be removed. It looks extremely trashy and unwelcoming. 4. No tent pads and it's hard to tell where RVs are to be parked. No up to date or clearly labeled water sources throughout the area. 5. The benches are in poor rotting condition. 6. Trash is piled up and litter throughout the area, I'm not sure why it wasn't disposed of by management or staff. 7. The noise level wasn't regulated and a loud speaker announcement for quiet hours was disturbing and just plain lazy. 8. It's a shame management doesn't care or take better care of the place. 9. My biggest concern was the lack of a peaceful environment, after being told it was quiet hours no one seemed to care, with loud partying and constant vehicle noise, flashing vehicle lights on campers tents, slamming of car doors at all hours and management did not put a stop to it. They also allow very large groups of people. This had to be one of the worst experiences I've had. I've camped across the country and have been to many grounds with different management and I would never recommend this place to anyone. Not only was I appalled at the conditions and lack of concern management had but I witnessed others complaining and stating that they were also upset and leaving. They run this place like it's an hourly motel. Nothing is enforced, the place is dirty and unkept, no one respectable wants to stay there because of the allowed disruptive behaviors that go on. The only thing that looked decent were the cabins but I didn't stay in them. Nearby activities: Great location. Safety: Lack luster management and security. No enforcement of rules.
We have stayed here twice, once camping and once in a cabin. Both times were great. It would be nice if the pool was open, but they are only 20 minutes from Lake Michigan. Nice and quiet location. The kids loved the chickens, and the staff was very friendly.Rooms: 4/5
We had a good experience here! Unfortunately the pool hasn't been operational in a long time. It would be nice to have. It's quiet and people are friendly, so that's awesome! There's at least a basketball court, a small playground, chickens, and I think there's a place to play soccer. The bathrooms are okay, they could be a bit cleaner, but they aren't the worst bathrooms I've seen. The price to stay is very fair. We'll most likely be back to visit . Walkability: Nice track path to walk around.
We were only visiting other campers. The restrooms were void toilet paper and the hand dryer did not work. Plus there was water on the floor making risk for folks. I think it could be a nice campground just needs some very much needed T.L.C.
Staff communicate and are very friendly. They make sure your stay is good. There was an issue with site we booked and they called way in advance to make sure we were OK switching sites. It's a quiet place with lots of room to walk or ride bikes. Highly recommended for a quiet stay. Kids loved the soccer field basketball and volleyball courts. Playground: They have a large swingset for kids. Restrooms: The public bathhouse was clean and accessible Dog-friendliness: They are very dog friendly Picnic area: Clean and lots of space
The sites are fine... grass sites, very unlevel, so make sure to bring levelers for your camper. A bit poorly marked, but very spacious. Was told to "pick a site" when I arrived but we had one already marked for us because we had pre-reserved - glad I happened to find it! Check-in was a bit awkward since nobody was in the office. Ended up being about 15 minutes from arriving to somebody checking us in, by which point there were three other campers also waiting. Very short drive to Indiana Dunes NP, and when we reserved it was the only place nearby that wasn't requiring a two night minimum, so that was a plus. Chickens.
Nice place! Free wifi at the office, but not enough washroom for the amount of people in the camping.. we had to dump before leaving.. I recommend Rooms: 5/5
Overall Everything was great the only thing Is they should have the pools open and the bathrooms need to be cleaned.Rooms: 1/5
Very nice owners, quiet and clean place with a good amount of mature trees for shade. The bathrooms were clean but the floors held water, not the owners fault, and one hand dryer didn't work. The pool was not open for use and the playground was a few swings and a seesaw. They did have a basketball court and soccer goals but that only entertains for so long. Our kids were ages 6-14 and it was difficult to keep them entertained. I'd recommend this campground for older adults, people in need of a quick nights rest traveling and in need of a base to stay for area attractions. Hopefully with new ownership they'll continue to improve what they have.
Only 20 mns drive from Indiana Dunes, a nice campground, very quiet, lot of space but the bathhouse could use serious cleaning and reparing.Rooms: 3/5
