We LOVE Moses Lake Dunes. We make a trip out at least twice a year with the kids. They love the ability to ride the quads, and when it gets too hot, they can play in the lake. Family friendly. The trails are for all ranges of skill level for both quads and dirt bikes. Be warned that if you're a tent user or light sleeper, this may not be your cup of tea. It can get super windy, the bees LOVE to assist with any food goods, and there is no curfew for riding at night, as long as you have all the required gear and lights. The sheriff that patrols the dunes does a great job, making sure that if he sees anyone being unsafe, he educates them. IE riding without your PPE, etc.
Went to the bounty hole event, trucks gone wild! Fabulous! Great every year!
Love the huge playground, and the mudflats season is wicked.. between the sand dunes and mudflats, you can drive for days and not drive the same spot.. Pros: everything.. Cons: sand flies. Bring bug repellant and citronella candles or some peppermint spray..
Dunes are awesome! Toilets are trash!
Love this place! Love going for drives through here, and the 4th of July! The Sand Scorpions are also super cool and all I have came in contact with are really nice. Just remember, pack it in, pack it out!!! Don't be rude. There are dumpsters all over. There is no excuse for being lazy!!
Great place to go when you can't get into the woods.
Pretty neat place, just have to drive an hour and a half to get out there and we're in some sand. Lots of wildlife, heard coyotes yipping at night and seen some deer out there on our last trip. Other riders seem to be respectful of one another when approaching. Only bummer is we're always finding trash, it can be really windy though.
This place is so awesome! Used to camp out here back in the 80's ... well, more over by the pot holes ... Hubby & I were in our early 20's, & didn't have a camper yet, & we'd head out there to 'our area' & park, then just load up the babies, tent, & supplies into the canoe, & cart it or row it till we found the perfect spot & set up. We would fish, swim, & trek around by foot & canoe. IT WAS ALWAYS A WONDERFUL TIME, & AMAZINGLY ... IT WAS FREE! Now we have an RV, & it costs us a pretty penny to stay anywhere ... but unbelievably, It's still free at the Pot Holes & Sand Dunes!
We love riding here, my boys have so much fun they never want to leave! We camped out overnight and it was so relaxing!!
Great for off road vehicles. A little loud and dusty for the average boondocker. Still plenty of level space and the lake is nearby.
