When you get to the trail, it can be very quiet and serene. Overall, I enjoyed my walk. However, the canal was filled with trash, and I did have a few people who set up camp on the island come talk to me intoxicated at the first bench on sand island… nothing too bad, but it was a bit uncomfortable for a Tuesday afternoon; I would just be careful. I hope someone can clean up the trash as there was a lot of wildlife in the area
We had a lovely time at this park and walking path. The fall colors were gorgeous and the bridges were great for photo opportunities.
Nice park. 2 things bother me though.... #1 No public restrooms #2 There are 2 separate playgrounds that the kids like to run back and forth between, sometimes it's hard to keep an eye on your kid. Constantly walking back and forth. There's not enough benches to sit where you can watch both parks.
Always a nice time with the kiddos
Quiet family friendly trails great for fishing riding your bike and just having a little bit of view time make sure to bring your camera great pictures great views
Great place for a bike ride or walk.
Great long hiking and biking paths bith great water views all around. Great view of the city and steel mill. We were here the day after a light rain and paths were still muddy in spots. More gravel would do the trick.
A lot of trash along walk ways! I left the area because the amount of trash surrounding was dangerous for my dog. I just didn’t want to chance it. Also so many homeless living in tents there, just so very sad!
Gotta love Sand Island!! Trash is an issue, but the place is generally nice. The fisherman along the creek are probably the largest offenders of leaving stuff where it doesn't belong. Playground: There's a lovely playground in the middle of the park that regularly has kids playing on it! I'm generally only through the area after work hours, but it never looks super crowded.
Another place we stopped on our way after visiting PA.It was very nice parking the truck and walking.
