About

PEI's Largest Amusement Park

Description

Fun for the entire family is the number one priority at Sandspit. That is why the park has so many activities geared towards families playing and spending time together. Ride the spectacular 70 foot ferris wheel, with a fantastic view of the park and the nearby beaches. Challenge your family on Sandspit’s beautiful 18 hole miniature golf course. Spend some time bumping around on our bumper cars, or just go for a spin on our old fashioned carousel. To cool off when it gets hot, twirl, bump, and splash with the whole family in the 100,000 gallon bumper boat pool.

Sandspit is also the perfect destination for the thrill-seeker in your family. The exciting Cyclone roller coaster is the largest in Atlantic Canada. Dive bomb through three heart racing drops, then zoom through two corkscrews before rolling into the station at full speed! Of course there's always Sandspit's great selection of thrilling county fair rides. Tilt-a-Whirl, Scrambler, Paratrooper and the NEW Cliffhanger.

If you get tired of rides Sandspit also has a great pay-as-you-play games area with plenty of old-fashioned amusement park favorites. These games include the Frog Bog, Roll Down, Shooting Gallery, and Can Crusher. We also have a Skee-Ball arcade located in the ticket building. All games have great prizes, so c’mon down and try your hand.

Once you and your family is all played out, we have two canteens available for refreshments. The front canteen has delicious hot food like burgers, chicken nuggets, fries, and onion rings. The back canteen is great for snacking, featuring popcorn, sno-cones, slushies, and cotton candy. Both canteens have soft-serve ice cream, and ice-cold sodas.

This venue is like a British soap opera -- hasn't changed much in 20+ years since I visited it as a kid. Still a great activity when beach-time is not an option. Basically a permanent midway with a few extra activities like mini golf and bumper boats. Compared to a traditional mid-way, the bracelet prices are reasonable $32/person in 2023. If you take part in more than 4 activities, your bracelet pays for itself. I have kids aged 10-16 and there were enough activities to justify the expense $175 taxes in for a family of 5 -- we spent 3+ hours there and the kids said it was the highlight of our stay on the Island. It is important to know that go-karts and carnival games are NOT included in the bracelet and cost around $8/activity. Was a life-saver on an overcast day on the Island. The Cyclone is still one of the best mini roller coasters in the world and my kids were able to ride it 3 times in less than an hour. Lineups are "Costco"-like...they move fast and are worth the wait. Biggest downside is the number of rides that are down for maintenance without announcement. Two rides were out of service -- something you don't know before buying a ticket. Having said that, compared to prices at the Capital Exhibition in Ottawa and the time spent waiting in lines, this was a good use of time and money for a younger family in PEI.
Small theme park with rides mostly aimed at kids 2-10. Reasonable prices with options for day, evening or individual rides. The go karts aren't included. There's a mini golf course as well. Definitely nostalgic for parents who've visited previously as very little has changed over the years, though there is a new ride being tested at the moment, it looks close to opening!
My kids are 8 and 11 and they absolutely loved it here. It is a small amusement park, but the lines were very short and the time on the rides were a lot longer than other places we have been to overall the kids and the adults loved this place.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
A fine place to go with kids. The place is aging and it's starting to show. Some rides are truly worth it, especially the Cyclone and the Ferris wheel try to catch a ride when the sun is setting. We had the night bracelets, which were around 25$ to visit the park from 16h00 to 22h00. I think it was a fair price.
Amazing place. Ride for kids and adults great. Price per ride, is little expensive. But if you buy the 35$ package is more beneficial.
A small amusement park with roller coaster, Ferris wheel, go-carts and a reasonable selection of the usual carnival rides and games. Line ups are not unreasonable and prices are ok. About $60 for 11 rides.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Quite disappointed. Showed up with a 3 and 4 year old over 36inches tall and was told I would need to accompany my child for some of the rides, fine. We purchased bracelets. The place is so old and dated. Several rides not operating - same admission price. It seemed poorly organized as these young kids staff were required to manage several rides at once I.e., same person running the flying planes, cars and horse ride. The staff looked absolutely annoyed with customers and were not friendly. Lastly, my bracelet as an adult was NOT used ONCE as most rides were for the kids only - adults weren’t allowed to accompany their kids. We stayed for 30-40 min. and paid $75. Save your money, go find other fun things to do!
Spent a morning and loved it! Most of the rides are set up for little ones, who usually are too small for fair rides. Everything was laid out well. We had bracelets that gave access to all rides within height limits. I believe an additional bracelet/ ticket was required for the carnival games. Wish there was more shades. Be prepared to be in the direction sun unless you can find a table at the covered canteen.
Fun amusement part, golf was the highlight for me. Very safe place for kids, free parking, fast food on site, well maintained and friendly staff Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
We were on vacation in the Cavendish area and stopped by the Sandspit for a half-day of activities. They have Go-Kart, Mini putt, Ferris-Wheel, small roller coaster and other things to do as well. Concession stands and the such. A great place to pass a half day. Across the street is the Cavendish board walk and restaurants near by. Easily can be turned into a full day excursion is beach is not your scheduled stop for that day. My 13 & 9 year old girls had a blast.
