Sandy Lake Dental has been my provider for over 25 years. This place is a good place for about anything dental that you might need. They have several dentists and hygienists. They do oral surgeries including implants which means you can get everything done in one place. They are on time with appointments and work to get you in if something needs done right away. They provide you with cost estimates up front and work with your insurance provider. They also have an arcade game room for kids and some adults that help keep kids occupied and something “fun” for them and a reason to want to come back. Nobody likes going to the dentist but Sandy Lake makes things a little bit better when you do have to go.
Great service. The staff explains everything so well and helps to educate you on how to better care for your teeth. Sadly, I am moving out of state and will have to find a new dentist. Hope my new place is as good as Sandy Lake
My daughters and I went for our routine cleaning and the system went down. No x-rays could be done, future appointments couldn't be scheduled, the payment machine wasn't working but guess what? That team keep going despite technology's hiccups! Nobody became frantic, we still had fun conversations and shared some laughs, and most importantly, my daughters and i were all able to get our teeth cleaned, and my payment for an additional product was taken the "old-fashioned" way! Great way to show you know how to keep it moving!!
Another great visit as always. They are friendly and professional and always get me in at my appointment time. They handle my insurance billing so it really is as easy as just showing up and they take care of the rest
DR. HORTON IS THE WORST. WATCH YOUR TEETHS HEALTH WITH THIS GUY. This place was horrible. Had billing issues but more than that I feel they really damage teeth. Went to a dentist before and was told teeth were OK. Came here and had two root canals. The first one was ok they numb one part of you jaw and do the procedure... but two week go by and I'm eating soup and A middle part of the tooth just chips out . It it just happens to be next to the tooth i hadthe root canal on. I think wow I'm in my 30 and that has never happened. But ok I go back for follow up and they find another tooth that needs a root canal. On the lower jaw but the other side now. I go and Dr. Horton is working it. And instead of the usual numbing the section root canal. Which is the low right side jaw. He give me shots to my upper and lower saide of the jaw. I ask why he does it to both he that how it done. Which is a lie and was not done the way previous. From there I feel pressure drilling on a tooth in the upper jaw. Mind you its in my bottom jaw that the tooth should be worked on. I stop him and ask him if he I drilling on my top part. He say no ollooks at the assistant who leaves and then I feel him drill on the lower part, which is where the root canal was supposed to be being done. 3 week later guess what? I'm eating breakfast and bit into scrambled eggs and start chew and a middle part of my tooth fall out. This time from the top tooth from the same side of the root canal. The same place I felt pressure when I felt he was drilling the wrong tooth. The first time I thought coincidence but the second no way. That coupled with root canal was lower jaw and he gave numbing shoots for my top as well. And I felt the drilling on top. They were destroying teeth to fix them. I feel dr. Horton should have his license taken away. This place is a sick place. I have not has part of a tooth fall out before I went to that place or since I left. Just the shower months I was there Just went to another dentist and took the xrays that sand lake did befor my root canal. And the tooth that had the chip fall out from the top. In the xray showed nothing wrong before they did the root at sandy lake did. And now I may have to have it pulled out. This place is a scam and bad for your health. The billing issues will be the least of your problems. Take heed
So, the customer service at this dental office was extremely disappointing. They cancelled my appointment WITHOUT even telling me. When I arrived, I found out then. They stated that because I did not take their phone calls to confirm, they cancelled. I responded to the text message, but since it was “after hours” it was not enough for them. Well, I am a teacher and I CANNOT take phone calls during the day while I’m teaching! Why don’t you people start giving clients the benefit of the doubt? If a client came to their last appointment, why would you assume they were not coming to the next one, if they did not call to cancel. ALSO, PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE AND INFORM CLIENTS IF YOU CANCEL THEIR APPOINTMENTS!
Sandy Lake has been my Dentist for more than 10 years even after I moved to Frisco. Most of the Staff has been there too. That speaks volumes about their business.
Great customer service from all staff. Dr Horton and the team did an amazing job on myself and my son. Highly recommend them on all dental work.

The pin light the "technician" was wearing hurt my eyes when she moved around. Other then that a great office! People are very kind and that is important.
