Went up for a convention in Dallas but we didn't want to stay at the hotel. We found this quiet gem tucked in an easy access location. The hotel was 15 minutes away but so is the aquarium, the museum, and other family attractions. The great part is that it felt like a home away from home, it had a pool, a playscape, an activity room, laundry room, showers, and shade. We will be going back.
Great place to park your RV! Easy to book, inexpensive, and friendly service. The park was quiet, even though we were at a corner space. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars for service, the wi-fi service was weak to non-existent. I was told that the park is working to get better service. I highly recommend a stay! Nearby activities: Large washers and dryers avaliable, pool, gym and dog run. Safety: Well lit, constant personnel on golf carts cruising about. Walkability: Wide open streets for kids and pets to walk/play. Food & drinks: Ice and water from a vending machine.
Love it here! Been here almost 2 years now no real issues. I just wish we had better because I am constantly changing my filter. But other than that I really cannot complain. I actually have made friends here and really enjoy everyone here.
Rv spot not room. 75 per night for a small gravel runway. Next time we come found a much more spacious beautiful place. Never saw any mgmt. But that's ok no issues. Some traffic noise but surprisingly quiet for as close as we were.Rooms: 1/5
Great location in the city, friendly staff, nice laundry room, friendly neighbors, and nice activity center where I could set up my laptop and get work done. A little on the pricey side compared to what we're used to paying and sites are very close together but you can't beat the location.Hotel highlightsKid-friendly
Nice little park. It’s quiet and safe. The trailers are all really close together so space and parking are limited. It’s so close to everything Dallas has to offer. On site laundry is nice and there is a nice pool area in the summer. The staff always puts on fun events for the guests including bingo and movie nights.
The place was built in the 1960's. A time when RV's were smaller and did not have their own zip code. As such, the roads and spots within the park are a bit tight, but completely manageable. Dallas grew up around the RV park and so it is a great location for getting stuff done. Our trip had a bit of a problem, but it was resolved when and how they said--which was nice. I wish they gave Scott some more power to do things over the weekend, but rest assured that the management came in Monday and handled it. Following through with promises is something that cannot be said lightly these days. The amenities looked nice, but it was too cold to swim. Maybe our next stay!
Nice little neighborhood but there are a few residents one should avoid at all costs
UPDATE: 7/19/22 We were FINALLY able to move to a really shaded area with lots of trees and couldn't be happier. Ashby and Scott really helped out with thus spot/decision and we are very satisfied! The Sandy Lake RV Resort Team really pulled through and got us into a great space and we can't thank them enough!! We've been staying here while finishing up a work project for about 3 months now. We like it here and have found our temporary home quiet and peaceful. We don't have any issues I've read about with other parks and the rent/utilities are fair. The park has all the amenities you could need and is well maintained. The ONLY issue we have is the lack of shade. We are in direct sunlight from sun up till sundown! We've talked with the main office several times about moving to a more shaded area they do have them and are willing to sign a new lease agreement, so no one loses money, but it's fallen on deaf ears. I scout the park at least twice a week and go to the office to ask if we can move but it's always the same answer..." no, that's a transient lot for short-term stays" or "no, that lot is already reserved". I have talked to the owner, also, and they stated they would "look out" for a spot when one becomes available but when I mentioned that to the other people who work there they have no idea what I'm talking about so apparently they aren't really "looking out" for me. I mean, if ones are not available then that's fine but don't give me hope if there is none there! Other than that, though, it's been pretty good...for us.
Are the spots tight? Sure, but this place is clean, has a nice clean laundry room, clean showers/ bathrooms, clean park, large clubhouse, allows large breed dogs, and was overall a great stay! Excellent location making it easy to get to anywhere, the park itself was quiet although you do get airport noise. And the staff was friendly. The pool looked nice but it was too cold for us to use, and the playground was a bonus for my 2 year old, it would be nice if they added swings but that's no big deal. We'd definitely stay here again.
