The Sandy Police Explorer Post is a professional Law Enforcement Orientation Program for youth between the ages of 14 to 21.
The Sandy City Law Enforcement Explorer Post was started in 1976 and is chartered by the BSA.
The purpose of the program is build an understanding with the youth of the community, to involve youth in police operations, and to interest them in future law enforcement careers.
The program is open to anyone between the ages of 14 to 21. An application must be filled out and the candidate must attend an orientation meeting/interview with the Post Advisor (with a parent if under 18), and pass a background check.
Explorers meet every Thursday night from 1700 to 2100 hrs for training. There are opportunity to participate in various events throughout the week. Explorers can sign-up for these events at Post Meeting.
