The imaginative, inventive and expressive art program developed by Sandy Reid is geared toward children and teens, ages 4-18. Through age-appropriate projects, children learn about artists and artist styles, develop new skills and techniques, explore creative art materials, and design original artwork. Thanks to Sandy's positive encouragement and fun, interesting challenges, young students continue to grow artistically, cognitively, emotionally and socially as they learn to see and realize their own potential and express their own inner artists!
In Sandy's classes, students will:
- Be introduced and taught the basic elements of art and design (working with line, shape, form, texture, and color, etc.)
- Learn to implement artistic technique while exploring these and other concepts
- Be introduced to and taught about artists, art styles, and art through the ages
- Experiment and develop expertise with the use of a variety of media
- Be prompted to look at, see, contemplate, and imagine, in ways that inspire freely expressing innate creativity while exploring unlimited possibilities
- Build an artistic repertoire, both on a technical and visceral level …and definitely have a lot of FUN in the process!
