Is it really necessary to treat patients rudely? My daughter has had a horrible experience here from both the doctor and nurses with a recent surgery on her foot! There seems to be no rational humane reason why! In addition she is desperate to get the paperwork done to get short term disability as she has a son and they can’t seem to get it done! She was told that it will take 7-20 days? I can’t imagine any good reason fir doctors and nurses to be so very rude, dismissive, unprofessional and out of touch with a patient’s concerns and needs! Can anyone provide a good reason! This is unacceptable in the rest of the world!
Don’t think it matters leaving a review don’t think anyone watches these. I don’t want anyone to go through what I did. I worked there and it was great! Then my daughter passed away and at the time I didn’t feel I could give my all and asked for a few more days and was told if I didn’t come back the Tuesday after my daughter passed I would have to quit I was forced to resign. HR was very rude!!! Thought Sanford was a good place but I was wrong!! I was told I could apply again when I was ready I have applied for my same job and have been turned down. I feel I’m being discriminated against and treated unfairly on several occasions. Mind you this clinic in particular is hiring a lot Don’t believe what they tell you when they say you can always come back! The sad thing is people are wanting to work and yet their career page is begging for people.
Visited this medical center on 7/19, chest and left arm pain. Was taken in for vitals and an EKG and then was told wait in the lobby. Waited more than 4 hours, without any attention. People arriving after us got help first and still no attended to. After 4 hours we’ve ask when will we be attended to and was told to wait till our turn. We told them we’re leaving because poor assistance and was then told “then leave” unprofessional, which I could gave them O stars, thats what they deserve!
I have used Sanford as my medical provider my entire life i'm almost 60 years old but this year after the incredible poor service and attention I received from Dr. Bruce Schultz at the 4th st and Sycamore clinic I am now a patient of Avera. Sanford is in the business of health care and not so much into health care.
ERIN ISACKSON the ABSOLUTE worst er nurse I’ve Ever encountered. Unbeknown to me I was experiencing the passing of a kidney stone and because I was moaning and groaning in tears on the floor in the ER waiting room she came over while my vitals were being taken and told me if I wasn’t quiet she would get security to remove me from building and bring me outside.I couldn’t move I couldn’t stand up without feeling like I was going to pass out and when I was crying and said I couldn’t stand up she stood there tapping her foot and said well I’ll fix that and called over 4 security guards. This girl has NO clue and is way to new and power hungry in her position . Completely traumatized. To be in that kind of pain and FEAR being kicked out and not be helped when in that kind of pain is pretty horrific.
The anesthesia management is a complete and utter joke. I have never seen or heard of such copious amounts of unprofessionalism in every way, shape and form. There needs to be a serious look into the anesthesia management here at Sanford, before there are grave mistakes made with their patients. The employees are overworked and underpaid, treated less than human, it is only time before one of the employees makes a mistake in their cleaning process, costing someone their life. I truly hope the board takes even a moment to read this review. The management needs to be investigated by Human Resources. Speaking with employees under their management made me feel sick to my stomach.
Recently received great emergency care highly recommend going here brought my friend to the hospital that was having a heart attack and they saved her life
They've been harassing my family member who has many health issues about medical bills relating to a month in the hospital. If not for the help, she could have died. They have placed judgments and transferred to AAA collections and have been completely apathetic. These are clearly items she will never be able to afford and have now decided to garnish. Sanford also is apparently 100% for-profit and have no charities nor were they willing to help her out when she called for financial assistance to let them know she will never be able to pay. Maybe we should have taken her to Avera. Medical bills exceeding $50k are impractical for the working class. Total sharks. I wish there was a team at a hospital who genuinely cared about people and weren't just in it to buy themselves mansions, vacations, and show off. The name of the hospital says it all. Avera McKennanif it's in network is wonderful to work with and cares about your life and has an incredible bedside manner. They always seemed genuinely interested in getting me better when I went to them. Sanford just blew smoke and over prescribed meds everytime id go. It's about making you a customer for life at hospitals and pharmacies in my experience, not genuinely getting to the root causes to cure you. Healthcare is an industry of business nowadays. It's really depressing to think that you and I are just numbers and dollar signs at most modern-day "hospitals". Prove me wrong. Id love for them to help my family member, but clearly alternative options were not discussed because if a working class family can't afford it, how would someone who is unemployed? Maybe it's more advantageous for people to live off the welfare state.
I was flown to Sioux falls on 8/9/2021 around 8am for further treatment and I have to say the employees are awesome . Everyone was so nice and they always checked up on me , any concerns I had they helped me with it. They would apologize for sometimes taking long with what I would request for but I remind them they are doing an awesome job and that I totally understand their work isn't as easy as some people think. I know I ain't the only sick person and I know others have way worse conditions than me but they always kept a positive attitude regardless I can see the tiredness in their faces. To Tracey Julio, Ben, and to the rest that I can't remember your names I'm so sorry but your faces are forever locked in my mind thank you all so much for being so patient and kind I truly appreciate everything u guys did for me while I was there every questions and concern I had you guys had answers and solutions for it. You guys are amazing. This the first hospital I've been to and I didn't leave with any complaints Thank you all once again Sincerely Asthmatic female in room 2158 lol
Sanford hospital has some of the best doctors, heart surgeons and nurses. I was transferred to Sioux Falls and asked which hospital I wanted to go to. I’m so glad Sanford was the one we picked as I had the best care while I was there. Everyday the physician and surgeon came in and discussed what they knew and what next step was. They never once just jumped into anything and had constant communication with other Specialist to make sure they were making the best decision. The ICU nurses in the Heart Hospital were fantastic. If you need a good Physician Dr. Alisha Hemraj is amazing!! She truly cares about her patients!
