Sango Sushi Restaurant

I have been getting take-out for years but don't live in the area any more...so it had been a while since I last ate here and the food has gone downhill. I ordered the salmon skin salad and it was burnt to black... completely inedible. And the sukiyaki beef was so overdone and the noodles dry and salty. The rolls were still quite tasty, though. I probably won't be going here again after wasting money on burnt food.

Absolutely pleasant service, extremely polite and patient, definitely reminded me of being back in Japan. The chicken Katsu was simply perfect, for the price and size. The gyoza, was good too, but could be a bit more crispy for my taste. And the salmon sashimi was really the only let down, seemed pre made and pretty thin slices. Overall I will be going back.

I’m only rating the crunchy roll and the California roll to be fair to Sango Sushi. Compared to Fugi Grill in the Albertsons shopping center off of Beach Blvd, they were not good at all! My husband didn’t care for the chicken and rice bowl as well. The prices are a little high and I won’t be back.

This is the 3rd time our family tries this restaurant, we LOVE their sushi. We always pick up, the food is delicious and the person who answers the phone has been nice every time.

I think people are often suspect of the take-out format used, as opposed to a table service format, but I have been going to Sango for years, off and on, and the food quality and taste has consistently been top notch, and at a very reasonable prices. The Super Bento Box feed me for two different meals, and while everything served was awesome, it gave me the opportunity to try the Sesame Chicken which has become one of my new favorites.

We have been going here for almost 2 years. Fish is always excellent. Staff is polite. Reasonably priced for what you get we believe. Recommend the Bento box or Orental set on their menu as they each have an assortment of different items. Commonly we order the Tempura and sushi combo sushi I believe is tuna, salmon, white fish and 4 pc .CA roll, Combo A sushi assortment with 8 pc CA roll and poke bowl. We have ordered other items and all is good in our opinion. Picture is Combo A with a Rainbow roll. They typically will bring you chopsticks and fork for boxes and plate combos. They also have free cold water available or a soda and tea selection. One rest room on the side down a hall and is always clean. They have a child menu option but I am not sure of the contents. Big screen tv that is usually playing a sports game and is muted. Music typically Pop style.

Amazing food and excellent customer service, I will absolutely be coming back here at least once a week!!

I had ordered a combination plate with beef teriyaki and tempura. I noticed several differences in the quality of the food so I suspect they are new owners. The tempura was soggy which is an indication of improper temperature and old oil. The quantity of beef teriyaki seemed about half the typical amount. I will give them another try in the future to see if there are any changes in the quality and quantity of their plate.

I have eaten here for YEARS. My office is right around the corner and while this is a 'budget' place, I have always found it a good value. Today I went and placed my usual order, the tuna was clearly 'past it's prime' -it was sour. I was bummed, and took it back. I had experienced this once or twice with them, but always just moved on. By the time I got back there this day, the sushi had little bubbles on it so it was clearly no good. No question - anyone that would eat that gonna get sick. probably really sick. At that point, I wasn't really feeling like sushi anymore I ate that one sour piece.... so I thought tempura might be a good easy exchange for them $3 tempura for $7 sushi. I was surprised when the girl behind the counter said she could not help me; that she wasn't sure I actually bought the sushi from them I was there just 50 minutes earlier, btw!. I pointed out that the sushi container was identical to the containers they use. Coincidental yes, but that would not suffice for her. I showed her my phone history, with a call to their restaurant 50 minutes earlier a call that last 3 minutes 11 seconds, btw. That would not suffice for her. I asked her to look at her credit card receipts - she said they had already "been taken away". I was so surprised, so disappointed. I pleaded but they made it clear what my business means to them. I checked my credit card history......In 9 years I've spent $15,233.21 there. Bummer for all.

Quick lunch with daughter post spa day and nails done down the mall. Sushi fresh and they seem to. CHange it up enough for the locals to have variety. I had the tempura upon broth perfect, not too salty . She had baked California roll,topped with tuna.
