OPEN!!! 8.10.2023 — thankful the playground is repaired and open! We came out to the island today to visit since Hurricane Ian and support a local business for lunch afterwards. Headed to Captiva Island afterwards for lunch at The Mucky Duck as they have reopened as well
Great place still after the hurricane. Cover for all. Tables to relax. Some shady areas to cool off. Bathrooms good. Water fountain works , nice and cold. My middle daughter said this was the BEST playground she had been to. And I have a 3 year old so I definitely appreciate the lock in the gate door. Good
A well shaded, fenced off park with seperate play structures with slides for the very young 2-3 through about 10-11 years of age. There are also swings for various ages. Conveniently, there are water fountains and toilets just off the parking lot. Bike racks are located by the play area gate. There are a couple of picnic tables under a gazebo just outside the play area.
We were looking for something to wear the kids out and found this beautiful park. The playground was large and a lot of it was SHADED! We were so excited to see that the kids could run around and not be blistered by the strong sun. There was a large variety of things for them to do as well. We also walked a bit of the trail behind the park which was beautiful as well. They had plenty of parking and it wasn't very busy at 10am. They have bathrooms here as well in case...you know...accidents but we didn't have to use them.
Completely fenced so little ones are safe. The playground has shade tarps overhead, which is great. Baby swings, big kid swings, and a tire swing. Great for big or little ones.
Very immaculate park with quite a variety of obstacles. There are wonderful sun shades over the whole area and the wood chips are clean and soft. It really is one of the nicer kids parks around with bike parking, picnic tables, benches, and pavilion for shade. Our 3 year old daughter has really taken to the fun obstacles and there are challenges for 2 year old up to around 5 or 6 year olds.
Excellent park. Extremely clean. A nice tall fence around the perimeter keeps kids from wandering out and towards the busy road! I like that this park has a good number of activities for various age children. There are a few things for the young ones, but plenty for older kids to do as well. There are benches inside the fencing for caregivers to take a break and the large canopies above the play area provide plenty of shade. Bikes can be parked in the bike racks. There are real bathrooms that are well kept and clean. Also water fountains!! We visit this park every year and are never disappointed. Even if you're just biking by it's a nice place to use the bathroom and fill up your water bottles!
I'd give it 5 stars if the shade cloth over the playground wasn't missing. Great place for a picnic; there are two covered picnic tables with shade around noon. The playground is large, gated with only one entrance/exit so the kids can't runoff and escape. There's something for kids of all ages here and clean, convenient bathrooms on site.
Great community playground with equipment for ages 3 and up officially. My toddler plays on the smaller side and it’s fine for him. Good assortment of slides, swings and things to climb. Bonus it’s under a giant canopy!!
We were excited to hear there was a playground on the island! We visited before and after Tropical storm Elsa passed by. Therefore the cover wasn't on. Playground equipment was definitely hot. We still had a good time and enjoyed the playground.
