Whoever said that it’s a long walk from the long term parking lot to the airport, must have walking issues or may have confused the economy parking lot with the long term parking lot! My experience: The long term parking lot had plenty of parking spots I parked my car on a Saturday at 11AM!. It is $17/day and the parking lot is not covered, your car will be in the sun. I parked as far as I could from the airport, because I need the daily steps— it took me less than 5 very slow minutes to walk to reach the airport’s ticketing building precisely 298 steps from the parked car in the Long Term Lot to the gate #3 at Santa Barbara Airport!. It is my very fist time I parked my car here, but I looked around and in the lot were parked better cars than mine e.g., Audi, Mercedes, BMW, the lot has camera, and a daily attendant at the lot’s gate — I feel secured leaving my car in this lot parked for few days and nights! P.S. I looked at the short term parking lot on my way to the airport and that one was full. It is a more expensive per day $27, but it’s just across the street from the airport’s ticketing building probably 50 steps or so!.
TOTAL SHAM/SCAM - On arriving today, the digital sign approaching the airport said ALL lots open. Upon pulling into the long term lot without a FULL sign, there were NO spots. At the exit, we were charged $2.00 and advised there was an entry sign advising of a charge just to drive in. I have never heard of something like this. THREE minutes on the time stamp! BEWARE! ZERO stars for the experience.
Expensive, always full, and you need to walk pretty far to the terminal. Use the economy lot on Hollister and Fredrick Lopez Road for way cheaper and the 24/7 shuttle will take you from your car to the curb in under 10 minutes.
Do not use this parking option. It is very far from the airport and there is no transportation. It's a total scam. Don't do it!
