The Santa Clara River Valley Railroad Historical Society was established in 1993 to assist in the preservation & restoration of the railroad corridor between Montalvo & Saugus, Ca. This railroad corridor, commonly referred to as the Southern Pacific's Santa Paula Branch, is a unique & historic asset to the residents of the Santa Clara River Valley & surrounding area. To maximize the economic, educational, & recreational value of this asset, the Organization will acquire, preserve, exhibit, & operate historical railroad equipment; in addition, it will collect, preserve & display artifacts, photographs & operational documents unique to the region
