We had the best time of my 11 years battling a terminal illness. I can’t remember the last time I smiled this much as everyone and every staff member was incredibly. We had an awesome camp site for our brand new trailer. This was our first trip in it and well worth the drive. The weather was GREAT the resort was amazing and well kept. Next time we are inviting family that will stay in a cabin or airstream trailer that they rent out. So many beautiful memories from just 3 wonderful days. Thanks for making this a memorable experience for my wife and myself. Nearby activities: Really close to the ocean and great dining just a mile away.
Stayed here a couple of weeks ago on a road trip with my partner and it was amazing! The staff, specifically Rhonda and James were beyond helpful with the late check in and very friendly. The amenities were nice and CLEAN! Grateful that the facilities were all night, I was able to take a hot shower when we got to the site. It was convenient to Sunset beach as well. Thank you Rhonda for being so helpful and kind. We appreciate it!! Nearby activities: Sunset beach, Santa Cruz Safety: Felt very safe here. The property is gated and peaceful.
Stayed here for the holiday weekend. Staff was amazing. Kids stayed busy with tie dye t-shirts, playground, pool, candy bar bingo, palm tree climbing and foam party. They are also very pet friendly. Highly recommend.Rooms: 5/5
We have been going here for years. Our favorite somewhat local spot to us and one of the best KOAs we have visited on our travels. It isn’t cheap by any means but it’s heaven for kids. The playground is great, the bouncy pillow, bike rentals, ping pong table, games and activities are always fun. We love the pool and hot tub too. We always end up staying an extra night or two. I don’t think we will ever get tired of this spot! Nearby activities: Beach is only a few miles away. It’s generally well located for visitors wanting to explore both Santa Cruz and Monterey.
Nice KOA. Easy in and easy out. The pull through sites are narrow but long. The site we got came with a nice patio with table and chairs, weber grill, and fire pit. They also have a nice check out policy where if no one has reserved your site on the day of checkout, you can leave at 3pm for only $30. Otherwise checkout is 11 for RVs. This was great for us as we only had a 1.5 hr drive to our next destination. For those that don't have an RV, or families that have RVs but would like other family members or friends to come in and stay, they offer a variety of cabins and tiny homes near the RV sites so everyone can still hang out. The camp store was nice, has everything you may need. A bit pricey, but what camp store isn't. They have 2 dog park areas, medium sized. Some of the sites have a decent sized dog pen too for your private use. Overall, nice park. We would stay here again.
This campground is definitely catered to children, which is fine, but be prepared for it to be very busy and very loud all day long. I don’t recommend coming here if you’re looking for a relaxing environment. They also don’t enforce the 10pm quiet rule, which they didn’t seem concerned about when we mentioned it. Our family has 2 fifth wheels and the sites we are in are not appropriate for the size of our 35’ trailers. We had to park our trucks in the small outdoor living space we had. They should be advertised for smaller trailers. The two good things they have going for them are cleanliness and location. I won’t be coming back here because it’s too busy for me.
If you have kids, this place may be for you. If you want peace and quiet, not so much. Annoying kid train blaring music while driving in circles in front of our RV. Pricey for what you get. The upside is that the facilities were clean and reasonably well-maintained. Also very pet friendly, which, we appreciate.Hotel highlightsKid-friendly
If you like 2am golf cart races and destruction derby by staff. Been coming here for 12years in a row but is my last. No notice shutoff water and electric just before checkout time, new prices are too high. Notified staff of lack of hand soap in restroom and received less than cordial response. This place was once a great visit but slowly has gone down hill. Newer management has let it slide even more rapidly
Stayed at this campground and unfortunately they had me in a campsite under a Eucalyptus tree. I did not know this at the time, and not warned by staff, but Eucalyptus sap will stain your paint! My truck and 5th now have brown coffee like stains all over them. $120k in equipment! It will not come off! They should warn you that this could happen! Update: $1100.00 to get the staining out of my 5th Wheel trailer. $200.00 to get the staining out of my truck. I had to have a RV detailer. None of the products over the counter would work. I was contacted by the KOA they are on notice that their trees ,Eucalyptus, will do damage to vehicles. I was a little put off by the response of the email. As I think it their responsibility as a campsite provider to provides sites that will not damage vehicles. Good afternoon Brian, I wanted to reach out to you regarding your stay with us Aug 21-24, 2023. You indicated that you had tree sap fall on your truck and trailer during your stay. We sincerely apologize for this misfortunate incident and any inconvenience that this may have caused you. In an effort to maintain a connection to the outdoors, the camping experience does include a variety of natural elements including trees. I appreciate your reaching out and discussing your concerns and we will be utilizing your feedback to ensure better guest experiences in the future. Thank you for your time.
Sardines. Sardines. Sardines. Three nights for nearly $600. This was by far the worst value of 11 places we’ve stayed across the country including KOAs. The owners of this place would do well to go and visit the San Diego KOA to see how a high cost area campground can succeed marvelously. When you pay more for what you think will be a nice campground, and in fact, it ends up not even meeting minimal standards your heart just sinks and you want to go and stay in a hotel. And despite the website, there is no gravel in spaces; it’s dirt, which makes mud after the fog rolls in or it rains. update/response : nothing uncommon about it; nearly all spots are super tight; dirt NOT gravel abounds
