Another dying mall in Rochester. Half the stores are empty and out of business. Great size for mall walking. Nice central fountain seating area. Lots of parking as there are never many shoppers here. Clean bathrooms!
Has swarms of thousands of seagulls like the movie the birds. At sunset they swarm around near that Mall traffic light there where there is aldis and Wendys. They swarm the mall parking lot too as you can see from my photo. All stores pretty much are closed All starting from when Macys closed down. Be careful of the seagulls because they really can cause a car accident.
It's no secret, this is a dying mall. Still, it is kept pretty nice and the few remaining stores are pretty unique and worth supporting. Staff are very friendly. The parking lot looks like the lunar surface with all its craters and crannies. It's still a great place for indoor power walkers and you might just pick up some merch or get your brows threaded while you're there.
Came on weekend but the mall was not busy. A lot of empty stores, but we found a lot of good deals for sport wears
It's a great mall. It's huge, with a lot to offer. Stores of every variety. Very big on supporting local areas and New York State. Well thought out design and decorations. Even a carousel in the food court.
It's too bad that this mall isn't getting more business. I really enjoyed visiting it. It was clean and had a good atmosphere and some nice shops. Very pretty decorations and indoor fountains. I recommend this mall.
If I were to rank this a few years ago, it would 100% be a 5 star rating. Every time I went it was jam packed and full of people and good stores. The food court was also very good as well. However, unfortunately as the years have passed the mall has died out and there are little to no stores with only a few people and food places open. Sadly, it will most likely shut down soon.
Marketplace Mall has really gone downhill. So many empty stores. I think JC Penny's is the only main store. But they do have Dave & Busters and a go cart place. Love Bath & Body Works & The White Barn! Love Auntie Anne's! U of R medical is taking over one half of the mall. We also love The Flower City Wrestling Academy! They have live events at least once a month!
Unfortunately, this mall is probably going to close down permanently within a year or two. Lots of stores have shut down completely, the food court only has a few places open, and basically no one was there when I went there a few hours ago. It was so empty, that my voice was echoing throughout the entire mall. I remember coming here as a kid and this mall was jam-packed every time I came. I made so many memories here also and seeing this place decay to a shell of its former self is just sad : the U of R upgrade here also dosen’t seem to be helping at all, so I don’t see this place being open for much longer. Before COVID, this mall was already dying. Now, COVID made it even worse :
Definitely feel the Holiday spirit here! Clean, smells of vanilla and jasmine, small amount of stores but plenty of merchandise. Few spots to eat in food court but The Grilled Cheese spot held it's own!
