As a bank Santander hasn't really failed me - but this particular branch hasn't been very good. Ever.  Staff not particularly knowledgeable, and when I didn't realise they had closed early, a woman came to the door as I was looking in and asked if I had an appointment. When I said no she just closed the door in my face and walked away without even explaining that the branch was closed. A situation that could have been as easy as saying "Sorry we're closed" was turned unnecessarily rude. Uncool!

It's a bank, there are cash machines inside and outside if you are brave. If you are depositing cash not all machines accept it, so read the signs above the machines before you queue. Normally quite quick to access the machines, but there's often a queue to see a human. Bus stop right outside which is always a bonus.

Staff are useless and not at all knowledgeable. Tried paying cash into my boss's business account and they told me only someone named on the account can pay in cash and that is the law with all banks. Except it's not because I asked in HSBC and they said it would be no problem if we had a business account with them. I think your staff need training on what is "the law".

Friendly efficient staff. Always try to all they can to assist you.

Never open normal working hours. Always busy. New ATMs are awfully slow.

Went to brighton santander three times and phoned them. All I wanted to do was inform them of my new landline phone number. I did not want to wait 25 minuets every time to see someone. There was no assistant. I can't stand for to long. I have given up. Hope it does not matter.

Impolite staff, and lack of proper knowledge as well. One of the staff opened the cash machine while I was doing my cash withdraw outside the branch, so the process was stopped and suspended maybe this is one of the reasons why the ATM here were already not working. And it nearly broke my card as well, because of the staff pull out my card rudely from the machine Luckily it still work. I feel unsafe to use this bank service, its not professional and not a customer-friendly bank.

Cash machine took my cheque, malfunctioned, and made £20 disappear. Never got the money back due to the complete lack of care and incompetance by the staff.

Most of the staff are fine, bar one front-of-house employee short guy with an oversized suit and prominent front teeth. On several occasions has given incorrect information about bank processes and the banking app’s functionality.  When this was pointed out most recently he became rude and sarcastic, and walked off muttering to himself. Avoid dealing with him if possible. Alternatively go to London Road branch instead, they’re great.

The local branch never answers their phone
