Santos Italian Restaurant

About

Family owned and operated for over 35 years...

Description

Florence and John Santosuosso began our family restaurant in 1972. The original store was located in Fairview Park on Lorain Road and only had a few tables. Then in 1975 Mom and Dad moved the business to where we are today.
With all of Dad's hard work behind the counter and with Mom constantly working on new recipes in the kitchen, the restaurant that we had moved into was quickly becoming too small for our needs. A short time later a remodeling project was undertaken. A few walls were torn down, and Santo's Italian Restaurant as you see it today was created.

Today, Santo's is owned and operated by Florence and John's son, Raymond Santosuosso, and their son-in-law, Tony Raffin. On any given day you can be sure to see either one or both of them behind the counter hard at work.

The Santosuosso and Raffin families deeply appreciate your patronage over the past 30 plus years. We hope you continue to enjoy your visits to Santo's as much as we enjoy having you as our guests!

A bit confused with the positive reviews. The person taking my order was very short. I moved on and drove 20 minutes to pick it up. They seemed a bit flustered. This is what the eggplant Parmesan looks like. Poor service, poor presentation, overall bad food and experience. First and last for me.
First of all, this was my first experience at this restaurant. Bev was our waitress and she was beyond wonderful. Very kind and extremely attentive to our table, treated us very nicely. The food was fantastic and we had an amazing Chardonnay cream sauce with scallops and shrimp that was light and very flavorful. The red blend was absolutely perfect, not too sweet and not to dry. Overall, I would highly recommend this location to anyone, thank you for the great experience!!
My work colleague and I had such a great meal tonight. We were driving in to the area after working all day doing a health and safety audit for a client and just found this place by chance on Google maps. Really lucked out. In a 1970’s strip mall but what a gem. Our waitress was the best: had great recommendations and was a lot of fun to talk with. The other staff we encountered were so friendly and engaged. the food was really excellent, uncomplicated and at a good price. The wine that was recommended was excellent and inexpensive. I certainly hope to come this way again soon.
Have been attending their wine dinners and the food is usually very good. It is a good value for the price and you get valuable wine information as well as a chance to purchase after you have tasted. It is a friendly family atmosphere and the staff goes out of their way to ensure that your dining experience is a very enjoyable one.Food: 5/5
This use to be our favorite spot when heading towards the airport. Stopped in Wednesday night around 8pm and had the worse meals There were 4 of us. Two of us ordered ravioli and it was watered down with no taste. it almost like they did not drain the water. Inedible! My wife ordered a pasta in a cream sauce and it was very watery...no flavor! The waitress was great but the manager was not. They took the pasta with cream sauce off our bill and it was still $85 plus tip. That meal was not worth $20 and we will not go back. So sad use to love this place. On a side note, salad, soup and bread were satisfactory.
We had Santo’s cater our daughter’s 1st birthday party last Saturday and the food was so delicious! We got two kinds of pasta, Caesar salad, sausage, peppers and onions and bread. Couldn’t be more pleased with how everything turned out! Thank you, Santo’s!
First, I will say the staff is always generally friendly, and the place is clean. Other than that, this place is overrated. Sometimes you'll get a good batch of soup from them. The salads are always gas station caliber in terms of lettuce/toppings. They're piddly and taste like nothing. Their made in-house noodles are always awful. Always. They're always undercooked or doughy/stuck together, and overall just not great. If you ask for something they get out of a box, it usually works out much better. But, it's an Italian restaurant that is like "ooo we're authentic and make our own noodles" so uh... The rave reviews and cult following locally come from clueless older people that have never left the state of Ohio and don't know what real Italian food is supposed to be like. Go to Olive Garden. It's like 5 minutes away, and is more consistent. With endless breadsticks. For less money. Either way, your food is being tossed together by low paid teens.
My husband and I decided to try this place the other evening. We ordered Cheese Raviolis with meatballs. I ordered a diet soda, and my husband ordered a decaf coffee. The salad first came out and was lacking dressing and there was nothing special about a basic salad with 2 cherry tomatoes, 1 cucumber slice. We asked her to please bring us some dressing. That never came!! We waited for our order about 1/2 hour and the place was not busy at all. The meal came and the women assured me that these were homemade from scratch there. Well not only were they not made from scratch, but the centers were frozen, and the dough was so al dente that it was not edible. The meatballs were cold in the center. The sauce was plain acid. Honestly, I have no idea how this place has ever stayed in business. The women took the meal away as we explained and showed her that it was not even cooked and obviously not made from scratch. She then gives us a bill of $16.00. I was like, what is this for? She said, since you ate the small salad which we split because I had weight loss surgery and ordered a diet coke and a decaf coffee this was the charge. I couldn't believe it. We did not even drink the soda and coffee. The coffee was like mud. We will NEVER BE BACK AGAIN! Terrible food, terrible service!!!
The bread was great and the waitress was amazing. The food was horrible - between undercooked and overcooked seafood, broth tasted liked dishwater, pasta that tasted liked rubber - my son said I make a better chicken marsala than what he received.
About a month ago picked up lasagna and veal parm. Sauce was burnt and scrapped from bottom of pan. Took back and received gift cert for the bad meal. Tried again tonight but with white pizza. It looked like it was sitting on the shelf all day waiting for pick up. So unappetizing. Taking balance of gift cert back and telling Santos to learn how to make good food.....again. Lost customer!!!
