Wife and myself decided to try this place out 7-23-2023, we arrived 10 minutes before they open. 5pm we walked inside and met the owner/cook/waiter, he took out order and went and did his magic, every bit we took we loved, I like the quiet atmosphere, hometown arrangements inside, just down to earth relaxing. We plan on going back and trying another meal.
FanfreakinTASTIC!! We've followed Joe the owner for the last 30 plus years now. I can remember when I was little my parents taking me to New York New York every year for his crab legs on my birthday and now this year we took my daughter to Sardis Point Cafe for her birthday dinner!! Joe went above and beyond to make it a memorable night. Everything we had was amazing. From the fried mushrooms and stuffed jalapenos to the lobster tail to die for and my son's tbone that could have fed us all! Even the side of vegetables were good! It was bok choy and a first for all of us!! Not to mentioned he opened up the restaurant on a night it was suppose to be closed and cooked just for us. That's love for what you do and awesome to find these days!! So if you haven't tried it, you definitely should! P.s. if you are wanting the crab legs make sure you call to let him know a day or two before. He gets them fresh!!
Amazing!! We return next week for a celebration!
A cute place where you can get fresh and healthy food.
First off the owner is very likeable and I suspect this is a big part of why he has such good ratings, to the point of being misleading. The place itself is nice and quaint. The fried mushrooms and stuffed jalapenos were frozen and not homemade so I would not recommend these. The bok choy side was tasty though. My ribeye steak was low quality so despite being cooked to the proper temperature of medium-rare, it was not that enjoyable. Shrimp Scampi was pretty good but no butter sauce or anything like that, just large shrimp well cooked with minimal seasoning. This place is fit for locals but not the sort of place you make a special trip to like I did coming from Hillsboro. People keep mentioning that the food takes a long time but it really doesn't, unless maybe the place is full of people, nobody else was there when we went. I probably won't be back but I could not bring myself to give a lower rating to a good man who is probably struggling to make a living. I guess I am pretty picky about my food and maybe the locals are just happy to have a place to go. Sorry.
A horrible smell smacks you in the face when you walk in. It was so intense that it made me feel nauseous. It took more than an hour to get our food. I ordered fish and when I got it, it was raw...not just a little undercooked, but raw. I wanted so badly to like this place, because the owner seemed nice, but I just can't believe this place is still running.
Our experience was not recent. The food was good, the service was also good. What I didn't like, was hearing owners girlfriend telling us about their sex life they had inside the restaurant, in front of our daughter, while we are trying to eat! Kinda grossed me out knowing they did that where food is served
Hubby and I stopped here last night for the first time, very delicious home cooked meal. Come in, sit down, relax...and enjoy... Just one very nice older gentlemen, who does it all...and mean that literally...perfect for date night...he accepts cash or checks no cards.
This place should be standing room only .Run by a varry interesting couple the food was Amazing the atmosphere was perfict .it's hiden away just of the highway with all the big new restronts in Middlotion and Waxahachie this place go's unnoticed but it's a ausom place .Bring cash cause that's all thay except.
First impressions, are everything. If you really want return customers, you’ll need to step it a notch. We were hoping to put this on a “regular” status. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to do so. Based on the flavor, quality, and temperature of the food while being served. Nice guy. Bad food.
