This place has been a favorite stop of mine for years! Over the years I have had some good food and some great food! Todays was great! The chicken had great flavor and a nice crunch from the grill top fry. They are quick and affordable place for a great filling lunch!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes
Sarku Japan is the best teriyaki you’ll find an any mall food court. Their chicken teriyaki is absolutely delicious. I recommend ordering the chicken with fried rice, ask for double meat and extra sauce, and add some Sriracha sauce at the end. Every time I’m near this mall, I swing by and pick up some food from Sarku Japan. If you haven’t been to one before, it’s a pretty common Teppanyaki experience. You order your food, typically some rice with a side of veggies and some kind of meat on top chicken, beef, or shrimp. They grill up the meat right there on the grill in front of you, and steamed vegetables as well. Ask for extra sauce on your teriyaki when you get it. You’ll thank me later. Usually they have a bottle of Sriracha sauce at the counter as well, so you can kick it up a notch by adding some to your dish, which I would recommend. This particular Sarku is located in my favorite food court in the area. The Southcenter mall food court is really huge, and nicely decorated. There’s a lot of seating, and everything looks a little higher end than most malls.
I am sorry to say, but this place at Westfield SouthCenter Mall in main food court, is no longer one of my favorite places to eat. Just went after long absence of not going here, with Covid pandemic and all. Decided to give them a try. First what they called "Steamed Vegetable" was not steamed or cooked on grill. The cabbage, carrots, and few piece of broccoli. Was raw vegetables. Tough and hard! Also the teriyaki chicken, was like very small chopped up chicken. So some pieces were almost burnt to burnt to hard little terds! The teriyaki sauce had very little flavor! There sauce 2 to 3 years ago was my favorite, but it is if after the pandemic shut down, and some business not having a lot of business. There has been a drop in quality of the food served at this particular Sarku's The other thing I ordered was a spring roll, it with pot stickers all prior cooked and just sitting in a steam pan. It was perhaps one of the worse spring rolls, I've ever eaten. Even Panda Express is better then there's! And the cost of $14 dollars and something, a meal in which I did not finish, and leftovers brought home were thrown in the trash. Will not be returning there ever again!
Chicken teriyaki, white rice and veggies. Add extra chicken. When your order is called, you can ask for more teriyaki sauce!
A very bad experience at this restaurant. The beef tasted subpar, the chicken was chewy, the fried rice was unseasoned and poor tasting, the veggies were uncooked and the soft drinks were watered down. You are better off going to Panda Express.Food: 1/5
Chicken is good but fried rice wasn’t even fried. Very soggy
Used to be my favorite place , they put a lot of chicken before. Now the price is increased and also they put like 7 or 8 piece of little chicken with a lot of noodles
The food was great. It was my 1st time going to a Japanese Restaurant in a mall. The food was prepared upon order and you receive a good portion for your money of which the prices are reasonable.
We got the bento box the food was so old only the beef is fresh other wise anything in the box day old. What a big company such a Serv like this. I won’t try again.
Today 3/26/2022, I ordered Teriyaki Beef with Fried Rice and Teriyaki Chicken with Noodles. It was definitely the worst two meals I’ve ordered from this Southcenter location. They really skimped on both the Teriyaki Beef and Teriyaki Chicken. So disappointed! I have ordered out from other Teriyaki Take Out and for a couple of dollars more, I would get three times the Beef and/or chicken. Besides the real Teriyaki Take Out restaurants will use real Teriyaki Sauce not the diluted sauce you get from Sarku Japan. The one thing good about Sarku’s diluted Teriyaki Sauce is that I can feed my dog with their food. Honestly for our meal today, we would’ve been a lot more satisfied ordering from McDonalds.
