Dedicated to preserving the Golden Valley 'hidden' beach (a.k.a. "Bare-ass Beach") on Twin Lake.
"Bare-Ass" Beach is a hidden beach on the south east side of Twin Lake in Golden Valley, Minnesota. The beach is notorious for it's history of nudists, although with a growing number of visitors nudity very rarely occurs there today. The beach is hidden down a quarter mile path through the forest which leads to the shore of Twin Lake.
The beach is almost always occupied during spring through fall, with a large cast of regulars. During the summer, the beach is usually occupied by dozens of people at a time who come from all walks of life.
The atmosphere is typically very friendly. Artists and musicians are frequently seen practicing their talents. It has not been uncommon to see dogs without a leash, fires safely contained in the fire pit and occasional nudity or toplessness.
The residents of a million dollar home recently built across from the 'hidden' beach (a.k.a. Bare-Ass Beach) have complained to Minneapolis Park and Recreation. Some want to make it an authorized beach which would mean more destruction to the surrounding natural habitat or even closing it to the public altogether.
