Where to begin The parking is ample! The ambience and decor inside the restaurant is cozy and perhaps quaint as the expansive showcase is filled with artifacts of the old country VERY UNIQUE to see this in a restaurant We were promptly seated, the serving staff was very personable, expeditious, attentive and accommodating The beer was great, the wine was stellar The potato pancakes and Schnitzel sticks were ever so flavorful The entreé's were all superbly crafted by a chef who masterfully prepared the dishes I would refer to it as a fusion of a flavor explosion A real culinary delight The meats were all tender, flavorful and juicy, the desserts were also hand crafted by the chef and not commercial in appearance, texture and or flavor DARE I SAY, that Scharf's German restaurant even tops Rheinblick German restaurant in Canandaigua, NY in every aspect from quantity, quality and ambience..... Bravo to the proprietor This is a must eat at joint without question
Great German food at reasonable prices! I love the spaetzle and wienerschnitzel.
The potato pancakes are a meal by themselves. Incredibly delicious! The sauerbraten was ok and the German potato salad was so so. The staff are very nice and attentive. This picture is what was left of my meal after eating the two potato pancakes. As you can see, you're not going to eat much more after having two potato pancakes.
Excellent restaurant thought I was back in Germany. Check hours znd call for reservations to ensure table.
I am so upset about this place. My family and I walked in and was greeted with bad smell of bathroom stall. It's bad when my 9 year daughter asked me why does it smell funny. Service was great and our waitress was great as well. Food was bad. I got the roasted duck and it was deep fried. It had an old oil taste mixed with fish. My daughter's pork chop was over cooked and same both old oil and fish. I just cant believe that it was acceptable for this food to come out of the kitchen. I could not wait to leave. Worst experience with food that we have had to date.
German comfort food......sooooo good. Friendly atmosphere with exceptional service. The potato pancakes were absolutely delicious. We shared a German platter and even managed to bring some home. Dinner was enjoyed with a spaten draft..yum. Looked like a lot of fish fry were also being served. You can't not love this place!
Atmosphere, authentic food and beer, friendly and helpful staff, as well as reasonable prices make this a great go-to place for German food. There is also plenty to look at with a very impressive collection of Steins. Also no rush to get through dinner to clear the table. It was definitely gemuetlich! Thank you!
47 years and going strong. Visited the new location in West Seneca on a Wednesday night. Went in without a reservation thinking, its Wednesday after all, how busy can they be? Upon our arrival we were told that they were all booked for the evening but the look of sadness on my face must have made the hostess feel bad and we were seated in about 10 minutes. If you are expecting that hipster modern ambiance, you are in the wrong place, this is old school no frills, very good German food. Our waitress was great, constantly checking out our table and timing each course just right. The potato pancakes are a must, at least as an appetizer. Fluffy potato filling and crispy on the outside, dipped in applesauce makes them amazing. The Rouladen was perfect, two on the plate along with my two choices of sides, authentic German potato salad and sauerkraut. It was cook perfectly, served piping hot and no knife required to cut, it was that tender. Call ahead, plenty of parking.
Great place. The German food was excellent!
I am from Germany and we thought it would be funny to try German food in the USA. It was a good choice! It tasted just like at home. Only the Spätzle were a bit different but so delicious nevertheless. The waiters were all very nice. We really enjoyed our evening sitting outside :
