We are a fourth generation farm family on the Eastern End of Long Island. Our family has been farming on Long Island for over 150 years originating in Fosters Meadow (now Rosedale). We moved further east on the island to Farmingdale and then out to Riverhead in the 70’s where we have been farming ever since. We operate a 165-acre wholesale vegetable farm producing lettuce, spinach, cabbage, corn, beets and herbs. We provide to local farm stands as well as supermarkets and New York City markets.
In the late 90’s we ventured into the cut flower business, creating beautiful, fresh bouquets daily. Five years ago we expanded into the retail business opening a small roadside stand that has now developed into Schmitt’s Farm Stand On Sound. We have always been dedicated to bringing you the best and freshest vegetables and flowers possible! Come visit us.
