Outstanding service! This is the fastest, most efficient Credit Union in Mission Viejo. My card has been compromised a couple times during the pandemic & recession. Schools First always does an excellent job identifying fraudulent charges and correcting errors on my accounts. I was very impressed when I walked in on my lunch to get a new card last month. Other credit unions take 15-30 minutes to replace & make a new card but the folks at this branch canceled my old card and handed me a new one in under ten minutes. Awesome service, thank you!
Horrible car buying experience. Lisa Perez sold me a car that was in the middle of a class action suit for an extremely costly repair. By the time I figured it out, it was too late to be included. Should have known something was up because the car had minor issues but issues from the beginning. It was a yellow flag but I was glad to have the process over with. In just over a year, I've put 13k JUST IN REPAIRS. Now the car has depreciated 68% on top of that. Just horrible. This car will be the death of me. Ugh. Other than that, the programs they offer are good but customer service ruins it. I don't know what kind of people they are hiring but they really need to start hiring better employees. These are some of the dumbest which is ironic since it's a school credit union
This is where both my lovely wife and I do our banking. The people who work here are always friendly and helpful. There is plenty of good parking so it is an easy stop. The shopping center has other good stores, Sprouts, Subway, Golden Spoon, Pizza Hut and more so I can get more done that just my banking. Schools First Credit Union has two ATM's outside in front to get fast cash or make at night time deposit. Highly recommend
Customer service is the best schools 1st is the best credit union second to none.
Great institution. April is so efficient, helpful and professional. Such a very valuable asset to your company. Hope she gets a bonus or raise. Our family can't thank her enough.
I've been a member here for 45 years. They denied me a car loan and my wife an account because I included them in a bankruptcy 20 years ago!! The credit bureaus will forget in 7 years but Schools First apparently will never forget! You'd do much better and get better service at any other bank than this one. Customer service is NOT their forte!! Stay away! Tomorrow I start looking for another place to do business.
Such a great credit union and team. Every time I've needed help with my accounts, etc., they are always on the spot, helpful, awesome, etc. In fact, most time I am in line for a teller, I look around the room and marvel at the generally positive disposition and good feelings that seem to ooze from every employee in the place. Good job SCFU! Glad to be a customer!
I would like to edit my first review. When I walked in to the branch they were great and processed my loan very quickly. Customer service also reached out to try to resolve my issue. I still recommend that they get more customer service representatives to help people who call in. It’s not possible to always go in to the branch. I will leave my original review below since I am not sure this issue has been resolved. Horrible! Trying to contact customer service about a loan and was on hold 25 min. I had to call back and I used the call back option. They called me back but now I have been on hold for another 25 min and no one has picked up, this is with the call back option! I just joined today and am already regretting the decision. I need to find an institution that answers phone who has time for this?

SchoolsFirst is by far the best bank I have ever used. They are so focused on the customer and it shows. As you would expect, branch locations aren't as numerous as some of the bigger corporate banks. However, the overall customer service, co-op ATMs, and eDeposit which lets you deposit checks from your smartphone more than make up for it. They have competitive mortgage and auto loan rates too. If you are eligible for membership, I highly suggest you take advantage.
