The Schreiner University Band Department is comprised of various ensembles that offer different musical opportunities for Schreiner students. The University Concert Band is the premier ensemble of the university and is under the direction of Mr. Marty Lenard. The concert band presents four concerts each year and performs a mixture of standard repertoire as well as newly commissioned work for wind ensemble. The University Jazz Band is also led by Mr. Lenard, and gives students a chance to perform in a big band, as well as jazz combo setting. The University Pep Band is directed by Mr. Kevin Dugat, and is charged with performing at home basketball games and campus spirit events. Mr. Lenard and Mr. Dugat work in conjunction to form and coach competitive chamber ensembles as well coach students competing in solo musical competitions.
