THE MISSION OF THE SCOTT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE IS TO PROTECT PEOPLE, PROPERTY AND RIGHTS IN OUR COUNTY AND OUR STATE.

Scott County uses social media sites, such as Facebook and blogs, to provide two-way communication with the public.
Scott County welcomes participation and comments from the public on its social media sites. However, these sites are public forums monitored by County staff and the County reserves the right to remove posted content on Scott County social media sites, including but not limited to the following:
-Posts and comments that include vulgar, offensive, off topic, threatening or harassing language or personal attacks
-Prejudice or hurtful comments that encourage discrimination or discriminate on the basis of creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, national origin, physical or mental disability, occupation, or sexual orientation
-Spam or advertisements for commercial services or goods
-Posts and comments that advocate illegal activity
-Political statements that endorse or oppose political candidates
-Obscene or sexual content, or links to obscene or sexual content
-Information that could compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems
-Individuals that repeatedly violate these guidelines may be removed from accessing the sites.
Please Note: Comments expressed on the County's social networking sites do not relect the opinions or positions of Scott County, its employees or elected officials.
Data Practices and Records Retention: To the extent that any content on social media is government data, such data are transitory communications and will not be retained.
In the event of an emergency, call 9-1-1 for a Police, Fire or EMS response. Scott County cannot guarantee a timely emergency response to comments or private messages through social media sites.
