My partner and I and our pup Charlie had the best experience at The Scottish Dog today. Not only was the owner knowledgeable and willing to recommend products that we were interested in, but she did so without making us feel pressured or bad about what we were currently feeding him. She made us feel like old friends and was more than willing to answer our questions and learn a bit more about how we were raising Charlie and what we were looking for by coming out from behind the counter and walking us around the store to show what she recommended. In creating such a great experience, she has created life-long customers that will continue to come back and support her business. We would recommend to anyone and their four-legged friends.
Absolutely love this place! The owner is super kind and helpful. The store is packed with everything your pet would ever need. Seriously, everything. Every time I’ve been here, it has been a lovely experience. Can’t wait to go back for more goodies for my dog!
I don’t appreciate being accused of posting a fake review; as per my previous reviews, you can see that I’m active in the Metuchen/Edison area. Furthermore, what independently owned pet store is in the area to have an incentive to post bad reviews to other pet stores? Maybe you think PetSmart hired me. However, I had an unpleasant and unfriendly experience here sometime in the past. That is all.
Nice place. The owner is friendly and very helpful. Prices are a little high. But you get good food. My dog eats it and I'll pay a little bit more than waste the money on grocery store dog food.
Associate welcomed me and answered all my questions. Had many of the higher quality brands that the chain pet stores do not carry. I will be back!
it’s a small store that has everything your dog needs. I’ve been a customer since moving to Metuchen a few years back. You would think the prices are higher at a small mom-and-pop store, but they are competitive! Sue, the owner doubles as a dog advisor- she has great tips for health and behavioral issues. I get my Fromm supplies from her.
Super cute store jam packed with all kinds of dog food, treats, and toys. Appreciate that they are conscious of the ingredients and quality of the items they sell. Owner was really sweet as well.
We recently adopted a new dog and found this gem in Metuchen! The store is well-stocked for all of your furry friend's needs and the owner is beyond amazing and kind. I realized that my pup was out of dog food and frantically ordered the food online at midnight on Friday. On Saturday, I was out of the house early in the morning and couldn't get to the store until 4PM. When I arrived at the store at 4PM, the owner was already locking her door! Thankfully, the owner very kind to open her doors again and let me bring the dog food home. I was beyond grateful and I will continue to frequent this establishment :
The Scottish Dog has all the higher level dog foods and supplements at competitive prices. I'm happy to be a customer of this shop and take advantage of her ordering service to get even better prices.
Great Pet supplies shop, Woman owned local shop, with quality selection. Started picking up our Pit bulls food from here for about a month. On your fourth visit you receive a discount which is always a plus.
