Have had issues of postal workers damaging property, shoving mail in the mailbox that is important documents that say "Do Not Bend" on it. When you go to the post office to discuss these issues the woman who I assume is the post master goes "well are you sure it's the postal worker?" Yes. We watch them. We physically see them. But she doesn't care one bit and nothing changes. Also she says she know the address and tries to rationalize the property damage but when you hear her describe your property it is incorrect and she doesn't know what she is talking about. Overall just a terrible experience.
This is by far the worst post office ever if they don’t feel like delivering your package they just write dog and don’t deliver it. This week l literally had a Amazon package come to Scottsville 8 minutes from my house then for some reason end up in Hampton a package l needed for a trip is now 5 days late and l don’t have it thanks for nothing USPS how about just closing up and letting private businesses do deliveries because everything the government touch’s is terrible
I'm not sure in what world "left inside the mailbox" means left on the ground in front of the mailbox. This happens pretty consistently even though my driveway is only 100 feet long. I don't think it's too much to ask that a package be left on my front porch instead of on the ground next to the road.
I have been using the Scottsville Post Office for many years and the people who work there are great! if people are having issues with the mail, you should realize that they have been working short-staffed for a very long time now; and the number of packages and mail have increased during the same time. Yes, they are human and make mistakes, but I can understand since they are severely overworked and rarely appreciated for what they do!
As the other reviews have observed, this office just won't do their jobs. I routinely have packages marked "attempted delivery" with a made-up excuse before the carrier even leaves the office in the morning. They say "mailbox too full" or "couldn not access drive way" but every time I drive to the post office the same morning sure enough the package is there waiting, never even been put on the truck. When they do come the packages get left out in the yard regardless of the weather. I don't want to call these people lazy but there's simply no excuse for lying over and over again when you just don't want to do the job. They will even tell you at the desk that they did not even try to deliver that day. They must feel compelled to lie in the system so they don't get in trouble for it. Perhaps they should shut down this office permanently and let UPS and Fedex and the other services that deliver on time handle the hard work.
Worst office ever they lie about packages being delivered, house numbers, mailbox numbers I’ve had them drop packages off in a field on a rainy day with no bad or anything covering it and marked it delivered they never answer the phone just all around unprofessional if you don’t want to or can’t do your job then quit it’s just laziness to say the least and if you do get your package half the time it’s broken
The drivers and people that work in the office are so incredibly LAZY. I know USPS is super busy but their JOB is to deliver mail and packages. Why am I constantly going to post office to pick up mail? Because your drivers are lazy and refuse to come up a driveway. I know I'm not the only one either because there is a line in your office for people to pick up their mail that isn't being delivered. The drivers simply are not doing it. There is one lady that does- I can't complain about her but unfortunately I haven't seen her on my route anymore. It is literally your job to deliver mail. The only job. I will go days without getting any mail and then the box is crammed full one day and the mail shoved in the back. Pure laziness.
I have had consistently poor service here. In the last month they misplaced a package of mine. Failed to notify me on 3 occasions of packages available for pick up, have never delivered a package to my box, have delivered my mail to the wrong box, and labeled my active mailbox as vacant. It’s complete incompetence. Sure staff is nice when talked to in person but that doesn’t make up for job incompetence. If I had an option to have my mail delivered elsewhere I would because I have zero confidence in this post office.
Though most the employees are nice the carriers can do whatever they want with packages. They lie and say they made the attempt to deliver but security cameras can back up that. Most the time our packages never leave the post office if they can't fit in the box. Yes we have dogs, that won't bother anybody! But it's a good excuse that gets used all the time.
SCOTTSVILLE POST OFFICE IS THE WORST! The manager is terrible. Only 2 people that work they is super awesome. That is Mr Napier and that sweet lady that works behind the counter. She has been there for years and always greet you with a smile. The rest wow! But that Manager got to go!
