Their systems have been down for 3 days straight. I need an accident report to get the insurance information for a crash I was involved in someone hit a car that then damaged my car. I would have taken pictures of their insurance at the scene if I wasn't reassured multiple times by the officer that all I needed was the incident number for the insurance to go through. This was not true, and my insurance agent Erie insurance even stated they will say that purposefully to make you pay for the cost of getting the report $15. Regardless, I have been told everyday since that they're unable to print or email the report due to their systems not working. This is preventing me from even starting my insurance claim, let alone getting my car repaired. I understand technical issues happen, but for a city police department that serves so many people, this is unacceptable.
ABSOLUTELY the most professional police dept. ive experienced and i have lived in most major cities throughout the US and internationally. this morning i disregarded the police barricade in front of the steam town mall thinking it was okay to wait for ongoing traffic to pass. i was greeted by an officer i didnt get his name and kindly reminded that there was a barricade that i completely disregarded. the officer proceeded to ask for the necessary materials drivers license, etc and did not lose his cool although i was VERY belligerent in my delivery of my displeasure of being late to work. mind you, this is in front of the police station. his supervisor was on the scene and also professionally blocked my range rover from the rear so as not to cause anymore disruption or potential damage to my vehicle. again, both officers were extremely professional, did not lose their cool although i was very belligerent AND invited me to the event that was happening that afternoon to acknowledge the fallen officers in the line of duty. as a military vet and a person of color, i cannot begin to stress the level of professionalism i experienced. scranton PD you have a fan. nice work, and mad respect. please keep up the good work.
Excellent Department. In my opinion One of the Top Departments in Pennsylvania. A Chief who has the backs of his men & women. A Chief who cares for the citizens of Scranton. A Chief that was an actual Police Officer who worked his way through the Ranks. The best Chief of Police in my 30 years alive and living in the City.
Why is there an animal control department? Everytime time I needed someone to help rescue they weren't there. I thought the purpose of this department is to help the animals/people, there should be 24/7 services not one that closes at 4 or 5.
When I went to the SPD Station, Was sent to make the police report online, for identity theft, they told me someone will contact me, well... its been 2 years, Thank god I went to the State Police and they did take proper care of my case and helped me, if I would’ve sat back and I waited for this SPD, I would still be sitting, getting scammed and robbed...for my friends and family I always recommend them to Go to the State Police Department, not this one, the Scranton one is just into giving out tickets for every little thing...Tickets, Tickets, Tickets Galore! $$$
The police here are professional and take their job very serious .They are a fast moving team that takes pride in their job and they keep Scranton safe from the influx of garbage that is moving into the region.If you have something to say negative about them , it is because you are a trouble maker or criminal , if you are a good person you would want them there to protect you and your family.
Great station. I met a guy here to buy a motorcycle. The transaction was a success and they let me use the bathroom there
Even though i haven't been to the Scranton Police Department, I have always heard that their police units are awesome and i give credit to the Police officers in Scranton, PA for their tremendous service. I give it 5 stars
Was issued a parking ticket at Moses Taylor hospital called to dispute it said I parked where I did because my girlfriend was having baby and she was in labor I was told add it to the cost of having a baby real class act they are Scranton has bigger issues then parking tickets I guess if your not a known person or a corrupt politician in Scranton they can't cut u a break
