Another Friday night, what do I fancy to eat ? Drove by umpteen times, curiosity got the best of me, popped in Sea king Ellicott City. I liked the quaint, seashore decor, huge menu selection, settled with more comfort food, a rainy day. 5 wings or 10, if I chose 5 wings I would have been disappointed. 10 wings were deliciously satisfying, stick to your ribs, appetizing mac and cheese, barbecue beans. great choice will return to experience more of menu 08/13/2021 Someone mentioned " crabs. " Called around, " nope " " all out of them " " you need to make a reservation, but we are booked." Now I am hunting for crabs. Called Sea King, yes we have crabs, bought large crabs online, 35mins. Ready, 1/2 dozen large male crabs were savoy and delicious. For an additional $2.50 for paper, knife, mallet and a bucket eating outside on a beautiful sunny day, I definitely enjoyed myself on their new outdoor seating.
Update 8/11- I called the restaurant and placed in a inquiry online to speak to whoever was reaching out to this review. Nobody has reached back out to me. Save your money and go somewhere else. The crabs were so light and tasted old. The cream of crab tasted off. It was so quiet in the restaurant you felt uncomfortable. Almost 300 dollars wasted. The service took so long and three drinks were dropped on my son during our service. We were not brought anything we requested mallots, butter and drinks. Not worth it.
Placed an order online. Saturday evening to pick up Sunday. As we placed the order we by accident put 20 percent tip on the website and submitted. We called the next day as it was our mistake. The person couldn’t speak and did not know what I was talking about. I came to pick up the crabs which were a dozen in a half. The workers stated that Jen is there who is the manager I can speak to . She came out very hostile like I made her work and was stressing her out. She immediately became rude and was storming off. She said I needed to talk to Eric who is not there. I said we by accident gave a 20 percent tip if you can just do 10 percent is fine and I needed three rolls of paper. She yelled and stormed off that nothing is free in this country and walked away and slammed the door with her attitude. I would stay clear of this place they have changed drastically. We have been coming here for over 10 years. Would not recommend to anyone. Customer service = none They charged me 10 dollars for three rolls of paper after we gave them a 30 plus dollar tip for an online order that we came to pick up.
Do not be discouraged if the crab house is closed. My father and I got to sit down in front before it was open. It was 50 dollars for more than a dozen. You need to pay for the butter, but it's real butter. If you need to, ask them to warm it up. The crab meat was firm and outstanding, sweet even. Parking: We were the only ones there at the time. It's incredible how it worked out.
I ordered carry-out steamed crabs and shrimp. Everything was great. My order was ready on time and the seafood was hot and seasoned perfectly. The large crabs were true to size and the jumbo shrimp were huge.Recommended dishesMaryland Crab, Steamed Shrimp
We ordered Large Crabs- they were okay. It appeared the Crabs were old, very light in weight and not much juice from the Steamed Crabs. They had no drawn butter for sale. I would take a second thought before I buy from them again. Not impressed at all.Food: 2/5
It was so bad I was super disappointed. I'll say the bbq sauce on my sandwich wasn't terrible, and the corn muffins were tasty. Unfortunately: The service was rude and didn't know much about their menu. There was an older female employee being obnoxious the whole time. I think she was complaining? Not sure, but she wasn't doing anything else, and it was super off-putting. Anyway, It took over 30 minutes for a pulled pork sandwich and fried cod to go. There was not one other person waiting for food when we arrived. When 30 minutes had passed, I asked for a time estimate, and they blamed the fish, saying cod takes that long to cook. Anyone who has ever made fish knows that just isn't true. The pulled pork had so many hard chunks and was cold. The side of baked beans was completely raw, The mac n cheese tasted so bad and was cold. Greens tasted how I imagine wet socks would taste, also cold. Even their sweet tea was nasty. All of their Christmas decor was in the restaurant's loft area looking down on us... I'm not sure if that's where they display or store it, but either way, it was weird. Everything about it was screaming "Kitchen Nightmares". Definitely won't be back, and I would never recommend it.
Waited 50 minutes for a fried shrimp platter, went to the counter 4 times and every time the young man was saying 5 minutes. The fried shrimp was the worse I've ever had. I will not go back, or recommend anyone I know to go there.Food: 1/5
