I provide Occupational Therapy (OT) services for children at my clinic in Epping, with limited appointments in the greater Exeter/Seacoast NH areas.
I founded Seacoast Play Works Therapy due to a high need for children to receive occupational therapy services in the comfort of their own homes. Life can be so busy with little ones, and the rush of packing up and heading to a weekly therapy clinic can be so stressful for everyone; especially for kids who may have a hard time with transitions or for parents who already have a full plate (so basically all of us!). Whether you work and need me to see your child at their grandparents' house or preschool, or you're home and would like to ease the stress of rushing to therapy appointments, I can help!
I love working with children and watching them find joy and confidence through play. Even after 10+ years of working as an OT, I'm beyond excited when a child makes progress and learns a new skill, or when I see them becoming enthusiastic about an activity that they may have previously struggled with. I feel that this is the best job in the world, and I'm so fortunate to have landed in it. I'm excited to work with each of my clients, and treat them as I would my own children with a positive, comforting spirit.
Therapy is always embedded within fun activities in order to tune into a child’s primary occupation, which is play. I ensure that children view OT time as exciting and fun, and never as "work". My therapeutic treatments are tailored toward each child's interests in order to motivate them to participate, and improve success and confidence.
Therapeutic goals are tailored to your child's needs, along with your input. I'm always open to discussions with caregivers, and know that raising children is complex; I'm here as much for you as I am for your child. I look forward to meeting you!
To help children participate to their fullest extent in meaningful daily activities, in order to promote overall quality of life and well-being
I'm a New Englander at heart, born and raised in Cumberland, Maine. I moved to Boston during my college and early adulthood years, and have now settled in the greater Exeter region of New Hampshire with my husband, 2 kids and a quirky little schnauzer. I graduated cum laude from Boston University in 2003, and am registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) with licenses to practice in the states of New Hampshire and Massachusetts. I have been a practicing OTR (Registered Occupational Therapist) since 2003, with experience working in community-based early intervention (birth to 3 years old), schools and outpatient pediatric therapy in addition to adult and geriatric rehabilitation in skilled nursing facilities and home care settings.
I have worked extensively with clients in their own homes through early intervention programs in the Salem, Massachusetts area as well as adult home care services in the Northern Massachusetts and Seacoast New Hampshire areas. I have also serviced children who are homeschooled or attend private schools. I love working with children and their families, and am so excited to be able to provide OT services to kids and help them achieve higher quality of life, and ultimately help them to be happy and confident people.
I have experience working with children with various abilities including the following diagnoses: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Gross Motor Delays, Hypotonia (low muscle tone), Learning Disabilities, Sensory Processing Disorders, Spina Bifida, Attention Deficit Disorder, Prematurity, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury, Failure to Thrive, Seizure Disorders, Low Vision and Blindness, Hearing Impairments and Cognitive Disabilities.
