Today I went to the Sears Appliance & Hardware in Lake Zurich IL. The entire experience was appalling. I came here because you carry Pratt and Lambert paint. First when I walked in I had to wait 10 minutes before anyone even approached me at the paint counter to help me, then when someone came they simply asked if I needed help. I told them yes that I had picked out paint colors and I needed samples, clearly they didn't understand what I was saying because they said okay pick out what you want and then walked away. After not understanding what they meant because I already had my paint colors picked out, I went to the service desk and again asked for help in the paint department. A woman came and helped me but did tell me that you guys do not offer small sample cans of paint the smallest I could get was a court, reluctantly I decided I would go ahead and purchase 2 quarts for the two samples that I had wanted. Then after waiting another 10 minutes for the man who originally help me to come back he finally came back and rudely said, well did you pick out what you wanted. I told him I had already picked out the colors like I had said when I first came in, he said okay and grabbed the paper out of my hands that I had written the colors down on and walked away. About 10 minutes later he peaked his head around the corner and said we don't have these colors they must not be correct they're wrong they're not in the Pratt & Lambert system. I knew that these colors were correct because my mother had used them in her room to paint that's where I got the colors from, so I told him I knew they were correct and for him to check again. He said there was nothing that he could do and that the paint colors were coming up so I decided that I would take the time to check on my phone whether or not the colors were accurate or not. After a quick search on Google I found the paint colors and numbers and gave them to him again on the website. He then said that it was because I didn't give him the numbers that this search wouldn't work only with the name so he got again took the paper out of my hand and walked away. After another 10 minutes of waiting again he came around the corner and said, that the paint mixer was not working and that I would have to go somewhere else to get the paint he told me to go to a Sherman Williams store. I told him that Sherman Williams doesn't carry this kind of pain he told me simply that I would be able to find a close enough color through them or I could call them in a few days to see if they're paint machine was up and running. So overall I spent 45 minutes in a store to get two small cans of paint was treated horribly by customer service and on top of that I walked out with nothing because the paint machine apparently wasn't working after all the nonsense they put me through about not being able to even find the colors. I will never return to this Sears ever again, anytime I need this brand of paint I will simply go to a better more reliable store. I don't care if it's 30 minutes away, it's worth the drive to save myself the headache of this horrible customer service.
Store closing on April 24th and apparently don't actually want to stay open to their normal closing time. I've twice sped home from work to try to make it before they close at 9pm like their Google posting says. They had locked up by 8:45pm. Not the best thank you to customers at the end of the store's life.
